I recently had spacers put in to get braces put on. A couple days after the spacers were put in, I got a severe sore throat accompanied by ear pain and some neck pain all on only the right side. I went to the doctor and he said it was a throat infection and prescribed antibiotics. It is not getting any better and I was wondering if this could be caused by my wisdom teeth being disrupted by having the spacers put in. I have an appt. to see about getting my wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow, but was just curious if they could be causing this extreme pain.

If the throat infection is not getting better despite antibiotic treatment, you may be infected with an antibiotic-resistant strain of bacteria. You need to let your dentist know about this before having your wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow.
