I have had itchy hands and feet for at least 10 years, I think it started when I began the menopause (I am now 59 yrs old) I went to the doctors and she prescribed cortisone cream which did not work. I was still suffering, what was happening was if I got hot I was getting a kind of little yellow headed spot or blister that you could not squeeze you had to pop with a needle or pin and a yellow puss came out (not nice) It was worse if I went abroad in a hot country or when it was summer (when we get one) in the U.K. I did get a stronger cortisone cream from the doctors which again did not work. I think it is my  blood overheating but now hands and bottom of feet are very itchy and sometimes skin peels off and can be sore.

I have had attacks of itching in my feet and sometimes in my hands for years. It feels like pins and needles. I have to take my shoe off and itch my foot. It is debilitating when it happens in public. Sometimes I have to pull over and stop the car to itch my feet. OK so what do the doctors say? Its not anything physically wrong with my feet. It does not always happen in the same place. The only thing they can think of id diabetic neuropathy, but I certainly do not have diabetes. Hysteria, drug reaction or allergic reaction have been suggested. I thought it was related to blood pressure because it often happens when I am angry. I take medication for .blood pressure, chloresterol, visgra and claratin. I have always had sinusitis and I always suppress it with generic claratin I hope I spell those right. The thing is, tying it to a cause and effect situation is hard and the doctors are no help at all on this. I feel like its the Pelagra epidemic ib the South in the early twentieth century. It will need severe testing of human subjects to nail down the cause. Pellagra turned out to be a dietary deficency that the doctoes did not want to recognize. Could our itching feet be some drug reaction that the doctors don't want to recognize?

Let me ask, do we all take antihistamine for allergies? Could an unknown side effect to antihistamines be what we are seeing? I suspect so.. I am discontinuing them for now.  I d rather sneeze a lot that continue this torture on my feet!

Hey I read all the posts. I have the same thing and the itchy little blisters under the skin is eczema. I went to my dermatologist and that is what they told me it is. It's treatable by creams and soaps but for the itching the best solution I've had is using ice packs right before bed. The eczema becomes worse when you become irritated or upset over something because its an inflammatory problem. I hope this helped you guys, I can't stand the itch.

I have this issue and do not take antihistamines, have eaten peanuts and peanut butter all my life, never used a top loading washer, always used tide detergent, best bests are lack of vit.b or stress. gone to dr and having blood test done. best relief is ice pack. always occures after showering? Never had ph test done so will look into that also as heartburn has been an issue lately. :-) So glad I am not alone in this.

It's very likely Candida overgrowth, which is going to be related to any number of other "disease" labels.  The Candida yeast lets off a toxin, and particularly when your liver is overloaded with it, you're going to see the itching crop up.  Ask yourself if in the past several hours you consumed any high-sugar foods.  If so, you gave your Candida infection a huge boost and it dumped more toxins into your system.  Get off any sugar and high-sugar fruits for a couple of days - you might find the itching is gone.  If it is, get yourself some high quality probiotics and take huge doses of them right before your meals (like - hundreds of billions of organisms) for a while.  You probably took antibiotics at some point which killed your beneficial bacteria and let the yeast multiply out of control.  Birth control pills are another thing that can set Candida off.  Consider taking a supplement of oregano oil, and/or consulting a clinic that specializes in clearing Candida infections, or try any of the Candida diets.  And stay off sugar.

Ive had itchy hands for nearly 5 years on and off I've done the same as most of you by way of changing my detergents for cleaning, changing my soaps which is to no avail the Dr, says its eczema I've had steroid cream and dermatology cream. which to a point had help heel the hands after the intense itching which has caused redness and bleeding sores but does not stop ay itch, I have found over the years that putting my hands under very hot water (hot as I can stand) does ease the itching, stopping me from scratching, though it does return, I now use rubber gloves for anything to do with water I'm now i the process of trying oilatum that someone has recommended though this is only to stop the dry hands that I now have and can be part of the itching.due to flaky dry skin.

I had this issue when I was pregnant, and it was related to my liver enymes being elavated. I would check with your doctor and get some blood work done.

I have the same problem and the only relief I came across was benadryl before bed, it stops before i fall asleep so yes it has to be an allergy. If I might be frank. Mine started on my palms and feet, now it's traveled to my neck and vagina. I read online it can be due to stress or a number of thing's. Keep on trecking like me and soon maybe we will find some relief. Please contact me if you do. Maybe we can help eachother out.

Well I am glad you are all replying to this but everyone is just posting their symptoms and not giving any suggestions as to the cause or what can be done to relieve it.  I am sitting here too scratching at my palms and thinking I am having an allergic reaction to something.  I woke up with itchy feet and relieved it by putting St. Ives and massaging it in.  Could be due to cold weather?

Last night I started to having itching on my hands and feet. I mean it was all night and even more this morning.  I did take a claritin and really nothing happened, I was still itching. BUT, I took two drops of Wild Oregano Oil a little later and I noticed a big difference in a matter of 10 minuets. My dad would always tell me that it has healing powers but never payed any attention. lol I must say it helped. Good luck,

It can start if you were on a series of antibiotics. Its an overproduction of yeast coming from your lower intestine. Your liver isn't able to break it all down . So from what I've read . You need b12 vitamins. Or you can take probiotics. Also one a day made a pill called tru biotics. I hope this helps.

Thank you, guest but I already take B12 for energy so that can't be it. I also take B100s, Omega, Potassium, Biotin, Raspberry Ketones and flax and chia seeds omega mixture in Almond Milk although havent had the flax mix for a week - hmmm that is why? Anyway, I am putting Life Brand (Shoppers Drug if you are Canadian) clear anti-itch lotion on which seems to help a bit.

Your culprit is probably powder carpet deodorizer. 8 days ago I applied Arm and Hammer oxi clean carpet deodorizer to a small section of my carpet, and afterwards, I broke out in a head to toe rash. My
feet burn hot and itch from the inside, and are swelling. I've managed to clear up most of the rash but I'm having to clean my carpet over and over just to try and get rid of the deadly powder! I won't dare walk bare feet on my carpet though. I'll be cleaning my carpet AGAIN today, for the third time. If I can't get this poison powder out, I'm moving.
