Hello.
I m a male runner suffering from an injury in the toes of my left foot which causes me to require a wide, large toe box. Unfortunately, I have extremely narrow heels, and so it is difficult for me to find shoes even when I am uninjured. I have found that my heels are fairly stable in mizuno wave riders, but that this shoe does not seem to be wide enough in the toes. Does anyone know of a shoe with comparable heel-width, but a wider toe? I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks

You may not find the exact shoe you are looking for. Odds are you will have to go with a wider shoe and use a lacing trick to tighten up the heel. I'll try to dig up a link...

I need an extremely wide toe box to accomodate my bunions which are so large they have a zip code of their own. :| I also have a very flat foot but narrow heel. I used to run exclusivley in the Mizuno Legend till the discontinued it a while back. I am now in the Mizuno Alchemy5 which now comes in wide which is pretty close to the Legend. The Mizuno Renegade also has a roomy toe box but is a motion control shoe.

I'm with MED on this one. Get the shoe that works best, then do something like a "lace lock", or use two short laces on each shoe -- one for the front half, and the other for the back.
