you are so sweet to do that! i have searched and searched all kinds of avenues myself....i know hypoglocemia has alot of the same symptoms. he did go see an internist last week and he was shocked of my dad's state (just like a zombie) and when he saw all that he was on. he wanted to ween him off some. he ran all kinds of test (urinalysis, bone, prostate, thyroid, other blood tests)...everything came back positive! a good doctor could prob. search deeper. he wanted him to have home health care (like a nurse come to the house to evaluate how he does off weening some meds)....but after speaking to some pp, medical docs do "freak" out over what mental docs do. AT first, we thought this was our answer, but then got scared thinking "what if dad really needs a medicine". so my mom called his psychiatric doctor, told her entire story. and she ended up getting him off the same one, so that's kind of good news (w/o us telling her which one internist wanted). ...also scary to think if dad would have withdrawals, etc...internist are not trained on antidepressants.

thanks for asking. my mom and dad actually came in to town to visit. i saw some things he did that a few months ago he did not...like play w/ my girls, help fix a bed...but he said he was struggling. (he was so lively, energetic, worked out...he is totally opposite of what ihe was doing b/4) he had a good period one night after he took the remeron. i am just not quiet sure w/ this medication. i think he does not need anything! they started seeing a naturalpath.; and i truly think she will help; i pray.
he says it's mental torture. i said like something pecking at your brain all the time. he says it's hard to explain. he has been saying this for a year. he has had no appetite for a year. forces food down. lost about 40 lbs. and he is a petite gentleman as it is.
