Hello,
I'm a 36 year old man who has recently gone on anti depressants its been about a month. The first thing that happened was the most dreaded side effect..... At first I could get an erection, but could not finish even after 20/30 minutes( my wife loved it!) now I can't maintain an erection at all. I have NEVER had a problem like this. I need to satisfy my wife but no longer can. Will this get better or worse? Sex is an important part of our life, however I also need the anti depressants, what can I do?
Hello, I do understand your pain. I am a 38 year old woman and on pain killers for the last 3 weeks due to a major, painful surgery. The pain killers are opiates which take away sex drive as well. A couple of times I have told my hubby no and other times that I don't really want to we do anyways and I always end up enjoying it - as long as he lubes me up. I also have been masturbating more often so that I know I still have my sex drive (confidence building) my suggestion to you is to practice - let your wife know what is happening as communication is key. Your wife will understand when you tell her and she is not going to judge you about it (at least she shouldn't if she is a loving and caring wife). If you feel the urge take that moment to try to perform for your wife, the more you practice while on the medication the easier it will become. At least it has been for me. Good luck
