I’m in the same situation. I started taking it about a week ago. Now I’m about 4 days late for my period. Did you find anything out? I may discuss this with my doctor.
It completely stopped my period for 6 months. I read several journals to see if this happened to anyone else and it has. When I made the connection that the periods stopped when I started this medication, I stopped taking it and my periods returned again. I’m too young to risk sterilization so I won’t be taking montelukast again.
I have the same issue now!! I’m getting off this pill immediately. How long did it take for you to stop bleeding after you stopped the pill?
I started taking Singulair in September and had my period one week earlier than normal then had it again that same month. I spotted and cramped one day in October and just cramped this month. I was prescribed the medication for my sinus issues but I’m definitely going to report this to my doctor to see if there is an alternative drug I can use.
Hi!
I took Montelulast for two months and ended up being one of the people who has the severe mental reaction to it and came off it immediately back in December. But after I came off it, my periods have been all over the calendar and I have gained a lot of weight out of no where, and when I look at how everything happened, it all links back to this thing :”(
I used to have very regular periods, maybe give or take a day, since I started mine when I was 11, and I am 30 now. So this has been really frustrating and scary, and scarier that it hasn’t leveled out. I’m glad to see I’m on alone in some of this though.

Same problem here. After taking Singulair for asthma for three months my menstruation is less and less, and comes in longer periods (30 days, 40 days). I also have breast pain during some time of the cycle. Before I had regular menstruations with no problems and breast discomfort. Going to see my doctor. This does not seem right ....

Hi, Milaleks.
Singulair (montelukast) is a medication used to manage asthma and allergic rhinitis. While it is generally well-tolerated, some people may experience side effects. Changes in menstrual patterns and breast discomfort are not commonly reported side effects of Singulair, but everyone's body can react differently to medications.
There could be other factors contributing to your menstrual changes and breast pain. Hormonal imbalances, stress, changes in diet or exercise, or other medications you might be taking could be potential factors. Your doctor will be the best person to evaluate your medical history, perform a physical examination, and conduct any necessary tests to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms.
During your appointment, be sure to share all the relevant information about your medical history, any medications you're taking, any lifestyle changes, and any other symptoms or concerns you have noticed. This will help your doctor make an accurate diagnosis and develop an appropriate treatment plan if necessary.
