I agree this topic is difficult to get good information on.  I lived with a skin bridge for WAY too long - not really knowing what if anything could or should be done.  Finally at a general physical about a year ago I asked my regular doctor about it.  He said they were easy to remove - he had done many before in the office - just make an appointment if I wanted it done.  I went back a couple months later (Aug. 2014) and he removed it in about 15 minutes in private in a regular exam room - my only regret is not having it done a few decades sooner!  Post-op keep it clean, try to avoid erections, total healing took maybe 4 to 6 weeks, very little pain and things really progressed much quicker and better than I expected.  If you have a skin bridge and it bothers you GET IT REMOVED! So glad I did it!

How did it go? I am scheduled to have mine removed in a week. They said it takes 15 minutes and I can drive home afterwords

Skin bridges are almost always a complication of circumcision. They only very rarely occur in foreskinned men. They are treated by urologists. If you had not been circumcised, it is very unlikely that you would have a skin bridge.

I just had mine removed today, it's 6pm now, I went in at noon, was taken in, given IV and anesthetic and was awake and walking by 1:30pm. They were even courteous evough to numb me locally so I could get home and sleep with no issues. Picking up pain meds in a few minutes, I imagine they're just Motrin. I recommend getting them removed. You will be nervous at first, my heart rate was 97 beats a minute when I initially went in to talk to the urologist about it, and he made it feel like a completely normal thing and it really calmed my nerves. Good luck to anyone who is thinking about getting them removed.

I have one as well. Can I just cut it with a knife?

tell your doctor is causes pain. As soon as I mentioned pain it was covered by my health insurance and wasn't considered just 'cosmetic' anymore. Good luck

I too had a skin bridge

This is not true, I too had a skin bridge and the only removal method was operation. In office or put to sleep. You have the choice.

You need to see a urologist because your doctor is an id**t. Skin bridges can get infected and it is absolutely not a cosmetic procedure. I guarantee 100% you do not want that to happen.

Please get it done for your son. Don't let him grow up with it. You already took his choice out by having him circumcised, so at least make it right.
