This problem started for me last year as a very small hole right above my bum. Incredibly hard to see, in fact I had to get another practitioner to come in the room to even point it out to the girl who couldn't see what I was referring to when I finally got scared enough to go to a walk-in clinic. Btw I just graduated college and work in retail, I have no insurance nor can I afford medical "luxuries" like going to see the doctor for non critical, non life-threatening reasons. It's not that I'm scared or embarrassed, the money simply isn't there. But they ultimately told me it was a fissure and to keep it clean, I think with some antibiotics? This was odd because it looked and behaved nothing like a fissure, although it did itch and eventually hurt. However, enough home care seemed to make the discomfort go away long enough for me to (sorta) forget about it. I remember being terrified asking them if it was a fistula, and they got all nervous claiming they'd never seem a fistula before but if it was one it would be really serious! Well that did wonders to comfort me... As did their confusion after actually seeing the darn thing...
Anyway queue about a year later and here I am. I've been experiencing itchiness for maybe a week or more, but haven't really inspected there until recently due to a history of eczema and occassional hemerroids. I was curious though upon being in pain walking around at work all day. Turns out the hole is back, only it looks bigger and deeper than before, only it just started hurting today/yesterdayish. I'm pretty scared, but it's not leaking or anything (yet), although it appears very deep. I know it has to be the same hole as before, and I'm ruling out a fissure this time because there's no pain with a bm even though there is a general dull ache after work today. Everything online either points to a fistula or a pinoidal cyst (honestly hope it's the latter). From my research, pinoidal dimples seem to be slightly different in that they're something one is born with. So those of you that have noticed this all your life and are spooked, I don't think you have much to worry about so long as you keep things clean. For the rest of us, I hope we're able to get a definitive answer soon and I hope things heal smoothly and without surgery (not that I could afford it anyway). For now, I will soak in Epson salts, clean it without using cotton balls, try and eat better and get more fiber, and keep the area clean.
By the way, I am a 23 year old female with a gluten sensitivity but I've never been diagnosed with Crohns or any other digestive disease, which seems to be correlated with this sort of thing.

I am from India and have been diagnosed with the same problem. I have six holes in the crack of the butt but now they have grown to be nine. Moreover,Just above the crack I have three swollen things ( may be cysts) or of which two of them keeps leaking Pius and blood. I am feed up of this condition since three years and the doctor had recommended surgery. I recently gave birth to a son and I am still lactating. I have lots of trouble feeding him in sitting position Even after using a pillow as it aggravates the pain in those swollen nodes. I seriously do not want to go through surgery. Is there any other solution to this problem? And what is the guarantee that even after going through surgery it's never gonna come back and get completely healed? Please advice. Especially those people who have already gone through surgery for this problem.
Thanks

I have 4 holes on my coccyx area. And the area bellow the "dimples/ holes" is either swolle or is something with puss in it underneath the skin. I am 18 yearold Female. I have has these holes for 2months now and this week the pain has begun. It is very painful. I can't sleep on my back for the past 3 nights thats how bad the pain is. It hurts to sit in my car because its a low car (civic) .I can't drive comfortable anymore. It hurts when i bend down to pick something up from the floor. Every time that area gets stretched it hurts so bad. I know from reading all these replies about this topic I should go to the doctor. But it is so embarrassing. urghh. The lady who said it can be spinal brain fluid is really making me want to go now to the doctor.
I don't want to have this for the rest of my life ! This is unbearable pain!!! I don't want that pain!! I have never had surgery and I honestly don't want to do surgery for this c**p .... There's no time for surgery, I have college and tests and lectures to go to.
But at the end of the day our lifes/health is more important than school. or anything on this planet.
I am trying not to wear my solid color dresses anymore b/c of the puss going through my cloths. I will be really very sad to find out that i have cysts and I need surgery.

I'm 22, male, little story here on mine -
First ever time it came to mind (a year and a half ago?) wiping my bum and bit of blood on the tissue, didnt think of any of it as it was on a seperate part of the tissue, aka...one smudge poo and tiny bit of blood, it wasn't in my poo - so i thought meh just been wiping too hard... was more careful where i was wiping and didn't feel anything or notice anything for another like 6 months - 6 months later it started getting pretty itchy, like really itchy, it felt friggin good to itch..if you're reading this you probably know what im talking about - after a day or two of itching it (not constantly lol) i taught myself to ignore the itchiness (i hadn't even looked at it at this point, im quite 'it will be fine and go away' person) then only in the past 2 weeks has it come up again. 2 weeks ago i began getting a bit uncomfortable sitting (im used to having saddle sores from cycling, and as i cycle a lot i thought maybe it's just another weirdly placed saddle sore) it wasn't itchy though, just uncomfortable - then uncomfortable when driving like, oo..feels like im sat on something? (not like a huge feeling but it felt like maybe there's something really small under the fabric of the seat) then that night i go to bed and wake up with slightly wet patch, the size of a thumb print, on the top-back section of my boxers. and im like? ok...wtf....did i sh*t myself lol...i smell it and yo ok it does smell weird but not of sh*t? so i thought it was a spot or something that i had popped, i had a good shower and put some sudocrem on it (feels so weird to bend over and do that) and go to work again, sat in a chair and it feels like im getitng a really sweaty bum so i go to the toilet thinking my ass hole is actually leaking on its own? so i google and find this Cystic stuff and im like YO WTF. I go to bed that night and in the morning I wake up with THE. WETTEST. ASS & BOXERS ever...like oh my god embarrassing.. I shower & sudocrem again that morning, and shower & sudocrem again in the evening, I did so for about a week and a half - realllyyy taking time to clean my region (admittedly I never really properly cleaned back there daily for my whole life!). I had proper look for the first time in the most awkward position imaginable, and hey i have 3 tiny little holes all kinda aligned like 3 tiny bullet points. I think ? wtf... so all that liquid was puss coming out of this cyst inside me, so I've been sudocrem-ing the holes and using witch hazel every morning & night and i've felt no pain or leaks for the passed 4/5 days...the 'bump' that everyone talks about feels very small for me (possibly because so much puss and stuff came out of it about a week ago) but I never felt for it when it hurt.
My personal experience so far is to keep it clean as a whistle - like..really clean, in the shower do your face and body, then do your as****e in a seperate bit of soap last. I think if you have holes you're actually lucky as the puss can get out, rather than not having holes it just builds up and hurts like crazy (from what I've read tonight). When I had sudocrem on the holes the first few times it would sometimes feel like the holes were bubbling or something? and that really freaked me out as I thought like maggots were running around (they weren't - you just freak yourself out about stuff like this) I might post back in a few weeks on here to let people if it drains itself again (or if the holes magically vanish? lol) ill have my email notifications on if anyone wants to reply to this ill do my best to respond! I haven't seen a doctor yet but if I was in as much pain as some people on here I definitely would, do not be embarrassed. They are there for a reason - to help you. You aren't alone!
I'll update on progress some time in future :)

Helloooo
iam pakistani .
so i posted a reply in Nov. 2017 about the pain and puss coming out of my upper coccyx area. So i did it i went to the dermatologist surgeon doctor because the cyst (and yes the Dermatologist diagnosed it as as a cyst) was under my skin and i started to have unbearable pain and i couldn’t sleep on my back for those 4 days that i suffered with that pain. Ok so when i went to the doctor she numbed the area and burned off the top of the cyst opening and then drained it. eww. So then she prescribed me with strong antibiotics for a 15 day period and she told me to put this ointment and badge the cyst with Gaws and Tap. Then, After 15 days i went. back to her and Everything went away all went well. And thank god we didn’t have to remove it with a minor surgical procedure. Also my friend had this same issue and she said that sitting alot causes the cyst comes back ! So don’t sit alot and don’t put pressure on the cyst. The antibiotics saved me

My husband checks me frequently to make sure I'm not developing any wholes. As of 6/12/18, my husband found some, but we caught it early. It has been more than 6 months since I had a whole.
Hope this helps.
