I will be 35 years old in a couple of months. But the past few months I have encountered a smelly white discharge 2 weeks before my menstrual cycle. I have gone to my doctor and she takes samples and writes me prescriptions for fluconazole and ciprofloxacin. It seems to clear up immediately well at least until the next month 2 weeks before my menstrual cycle. I have an IUD in which I have had for 5 years. I am very confused.... could it be coming from my body changing with age? Does it have anything to do with my menstrual cycle it seems to have a pattern? Could there be something wrong with my IUD? Could it be sexually transmitted? Any suggests anyone?
And there is no itching or redness.

Well, i have had the same thing. I've been told by my doctors that because i have mild PCOS, there are small cysts that form on the ovaries. When the ovaries start to inflame right before your period, it can sometimes burst the cysts, and that is the white discharge you are seeing/smelling.
PCOS is actually super common, and many women have it and don't even realize it. Results for PCOS do not show in test results or blood tests. But if you have symptoms of mild or server facial hair, small acne like formations around the vagina or labia, or irregular periods, then this could be a huge possibility.
If you haven't already, perhaps look into the symptoms of PCOS to see if this pertains to your symptoms.
Be well!

I also encounter similar situation. Not so much smelly, but discharge. My Doctor would prescribe meds for vaginal infections. I had a Mirena in place. My Doctor let me know that sometimes the IUD causes frequent vaginal bacterial infections. So, i think you may also be dealing with a similar situation. Hope this helps...
