I am currently in a third world country working. I have been taking 8mg/2mg Soboxone for 3 or 4 years. It was given to me as an alternative to opiate pain killers. I was told that by taking one a day, it would make my pain tollerable and it wasn't addictive or a narcotic and that it was harmless. I decided to let my script run out and have been off them now for about 10 days. 3 days ago, I started going through hell. I feel as though I have drank 20 cups of coffee, my body aches, no energy, cold and hot sweats and I'm really irritable. The Dr's here don't know ANYTHING about Soboxone and therefore can't suggest anything to counteract these symptoms. Is there somthing I could tell the Doc to perscribe that will allow me to function a little eaiser. Not asking for anything heavy, just somthing to take the edge off and allow me to vocus on work and other things and have the energy to do so until this passes. HOW LONG WILL I FEEL THIS WAY??
There are a few things. Xanax/klonopin/adavan.. which are all benzos (narcotic, but not opioids).. also the medication Clonadine which is normally prescribed for high blood pressure has also known to help.
"Clonidine" is specifically used to treat opiode/opiate withdrawal symptoms
Hycodan cough syrup. I tspn. Every 8 hours for 6 days.
My husband has been on Soboxone for 4 years and seeing a doctor. It has been getting too expensive plus having to drive one hour and take off work to go see him and wait another two hours in the office became too much for my husband. His doctor cut him dow from 3 pills a day to two last year . My husband just decided to not go to the doctor anymore and detox himself with the rest and went down to one pill a day until now he has 9 nine days without the soboxone. I read that Soboxone alone can be addicting, so that is another reason my husband decided to detox himself. It has been hard for him , no energy, restless, cant sleep maybe three hours had diarrehea. I have him on the vitamins that he needs to detox like calcium, multi vitamin, b12 1000 mg, l-tyrosine supplement and vitamin c 1000 mg. I have been doing my research to get my husband through this. Last night for the first night he has been able to sleep better, and went to work. Try to soak in a tub every day to help you relax. I wish I can tell you if there is something to make you feel better. If my husband would of stayed with his Dr. and gone through this with him , he may of had somelthing to help, but he decided not to. Good luck!!!!
