Hi, my son is still an infant, but I am concerned about his penis growth. He is circumcised and everything seams normal except the pubic fat pat that covers most of his penis. Is this going to change?
It is most likely that circumcision caused that pubic fat pad around your son’s penis. This condition is called a trapped penis, it is a normal size penis that is just trapped in fat pad. There is nothing to worry about its growth. Normal penile size in babies up to five months is 0.75 inches. Everything less than ¾ inch in infants is considered for a small penis, and it is called micropenis. However, it could lead to complications, such as urinary infections and retentions. Sometimes is the surgery considered, and you should talk about this with your son’s doctor. He should examine the child for hernia and hydrocele, just in case.
