Well me too. Post menopausal, left nipple. I was wondering if it is an immune response. I am just about to go walking and have put a plaster over it, this helped when it started. I have ruled out joggers nipple, or any other possible friction associated causes as they don't exist in my life, even bought a new walking bra just in case.
I eat healthily most of the time but it doesn't seem worse if I've eaten processed food. It just started about 3 weeks ago and although the nipple is reddened this morning, usually there is no sign other than the nipple being harder than the other.
I'll see how I am after the long walk I'm about to do. If it is more painful I'm going to try an antihistamine and see if there is any effect from that. It certainly feels more comfortable if I use savlon or petroleum jelly, but that's only a temporary fix. Haven't tried the alcohol suggestion. I will report back

I too have been experiencing erect sore nipple on the left side. It's just been a few days, but I started to get worried and discovered these posts. I have not been doing anything different (no meds or different foods)....I am 59 and post menopausal for about 3 - 4 years.

This is my experience as well. If I stop my HTR, I get sore nipples and more migraines. I’m glad to see I’m not alone. It doesn’t make sense that less hormones would result with these symptoms, but it has.

Your comment was a year ago, so how are you now? How long did the pain last? What'd you do to stop it?

Me too! Really hurts, suddenly & out of the blue. 54 and 6 yrs post menopausal, no HRT. So glad to find you ladies, it takes the edge off worry. I’ve noticed so many women health issues get no attention or help by mainstream medicine. I too wonder if it’s an immune response. I’m also having yeast overgrowth. Allergy season so my system is busy dealing with that. I’ve also endured shingles and frozen shoulders since becoming post menopausal...sure wish there was much more info, help and care for women in this part of our lives!

It's so good to know it's normal!!. My headlights have been on full beam for a week.which would be great if I was 20 but at 50 I am definitely on low beam....embarrassing. It really hurts and I keep thinking I will get my period soon?...sorry can't spell check
