Hi,

This may help but not sure--I took my son to ENT, pulmonary doctor etc as was spitting up yellow phlem in the morning for months now. Everyone put him on antibiodics. He later became short on breath and was told it could be due to reflux. The ENT doctor thinks he could have laryngopharyngeal reflux, so look that up and see if it applies to you. Also, just looked up prop up pillow. Google it. Is available through amazon too. I am going to order it as it has so many positive testimonials for reflux relief. A doctor invented it and is supposed to be more comfortable than the rest. You might look into it.

I know this topic is old, but I had similar problem an unexplainable sore throat. What i did to solve it was I gurgled with colloidal silver and then with hydrogen peroxide. I think the hydrogen peroxide worked best it was 3% and I immediately gurgled with water after that. For me it makes sense that it was either an infection or an acid problem. Both of which would have been solved by the peroxide. It also pulled up some mucous which seem to fix my problem pretty quick. Ive been trying to eat  less acidic foods also. Hope this helps anyone.

I have had throat problems for the last 5 years...All on the left side...I have been to several different ENT's several different times....I have had every different test known to man....No doctors seem to have a grip on it....The last doctor I went to, a neurologist had a different opinion. She thinks it could be Trigeminal or Glossopharyngeal Neuralgia...I was prescribed Neurontin and a low dose carbamazapine and a very low dose valium. The combination of Medicine really seems to help. I take the lowest dose carbamazapine that I can per day because it really lowered my libido..I'm a 29 year old White Male...I have been taking it for 6 months now and I'm going to try to stop taking it to see if my throat has healed or whatever...Because I'd rather not be on any medication...Along with these Meds, I take nexium, zantac at night, use a sinus rinse regularly, and sleep on a foam slope to deter my stomach from spewing acid into my larnyx and pharynx -- which is how I think my nerve or throat got damaged in the first place! I was told I had GERD, LPR, ULCERS, Bronchitis, Sinusites, Rhinitis, Strep Throat, Laryngitis, Pharyngitis, bursitis of my throat muscle, Eagle's syndrome, Hyoid Bone Syndrome, etc...--Any and all throat problems, I'VE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH IT...!  So Along with a Great Diet, A juicer, the right combination of medicines and stress relief, I've been able to beat most of pain for now, which is So important because I couldn't have a life or function from my constant and consistent throat pain for four years. I had no life and was totally depressed.  So good luck in your journey to recovery..Life's too short to be in constant pain...If one doctor doesn't believe you or give you the right diagnosis, go to another and another and so on....Because believe me, I've been told by many a doctor that I've been making up my pain and I just wanted drugs...F***them...You know your body better than anybody else....Just know that no matter how alone you feel, you have support and no matter how much you think and feel like your the only person with this problem, your most likely not the only one....Best wishes to all with debilatating throat problems...May you find peace, normality, and a pain free existence like I finally have....And it took 5 years, over 50 ENT visits, and over 5 Hospital ER visits....Good Luck Everyone! :-| ;-)

Wow i thought i was the only one! Im 23 and for about 1 year now, I've been having constant throat problems! I've had X-rays done and they said they looked clear so its not cancer (which is what i was scared of). But Iam constantly needing to clear my throat. Its feels like there is a big ball on my left side just under my jaw and thats where im constanly need to clear flem from. When i cough it has a really wierd sound to it too, really wheezy or something. and swallowing is really uncomfortable and loud its really embarrassing! I had blood tests that showed my thyroid levels were low so i need to go back and have another blood test done to see if they have either improved or worsened, and if its worsened then they think that could be the problem. I am a smoker but i only smoke 1 or 2 a day now if that, but have been smoking since i was 15! So anyone having these throat problems and is a smoker, Obviously, smoking doesnt help and its never gonna fully get better while you are still smoking. I cant talk much though because im still trying to stop myself! But i have gone a few weeks wihtout smoking and my throat doesnt really improve. My doctor has looked ddown my throat and cant see anything. They thought post nasal so i went on a drip but its still there. Its something in my throat and i need to find out what it is cuase its driving me insane. I have bad teeth problems so i dont know wether it could be related to that but i hope that what ever is wrong with me will get fixed soon so i can live mylife normal again cause its starting to hold me back. Ihate socialising cause i always just sit there coughing and its sooo embarrasinng. Good luck with all you guys hope u get better soon! I'll let you guys know if i fiqure mine out.

I as well have had similar issues regardless a relentless sore throat.
It started about 4 months ago with both glands on the side of my neck swollen-bad enough to cause discomfort when lying down.
The problem has also been associated with think mucus in the morning. I went to my GP and was told I had a cold and was giving Ibuprofen to help
with the possible inflammation. No change, tried cough drops and sore throat spray- nothing helps ease the mild constant burning. Note; I have been diagnosed with an auto immune disease. Which one-don’t know-looks like Lupus.
I have an appointment with my Rheumatologists in May and will ask for more thorough testing including my Thyroid.

I am also suffering from same symtoms - like nerve has snapped and the throat is stuck with something!! It feels dry along jaw and neck and can feel/hear it crackling inside when I turn my neck. 2 CT scans and 3 ENTS and 4 levels of dentists didnt find any problem. Its been a year now without resolve... anyone has

same problem did you ever get it fixed?

I can totally sympathise I have had similar pain for 5 months now and it really does get you down. I have pain or feeling of something stuck in my throat uncomfortable ear that side as well. It varies during the day from being very mild to quite painful. I have been to the docs four times they have suggested it may be acid reflux. Although when I went to see a specialist he said doubtful. I am having the camera up the nose and down the throat on Tuesday. And have been worried sick for weeks.

I've been having this very similar issue for 8-9 months now. Throat achiness/pain on the left side only, with some kind of "lump" feeling too. (When I swallow hot or cold liquids, I can't really feel the sensation on that side.) Lately I feel like it's been more difficult to swallow, and it feels like what I'm swallowing is getting pushed to the right side of my throat... :-/   I also get some "tingling" along the left side of my tongue, the whole way...kind of like when you touch a battery to your tongue, for lack of a better description! Anyone else get the tingling? Could my condition be a mucus retention cyst? I'm going to try and make an appointment with my doctor but hoping someone has ideas.

I know this post is very late but I was experiencing something similar. Had all kinds of tests, barium swallow, allergy tests, ct scans. all normal. I was diagnosed with something called "global hystericus" which basically meant when I would get anxious or panicky, that "lump in the throat" feeling was psychosomatic.

I have found the mucoid cyst behind my right tonsil and my doctor told me it was tonsilar stones. I went to the ent and he said it was normal until I told him when my throat and tonsil got sore I would use s water pick and open it up. Then pus and blood would come out and I would have to get antibiotics. He told me I would have to get my tonsils out. I am going to school and working and have chosen to keep the cyst open with a water pick. I start feeling nauseated and tired and know it is time to open it up. After about three months doing it every other week I have been off antibiotics for this amount of time. It is more blood with a few mucoid pieces coming out when opening up today. I started with severe ear aches and could not even walk due to dizziness once.

Has anyone in the past posts find any answers or solutions? I have a mucus cyst in my throat. Been getting tongue and throat pain especially when awake which is usually three in the morning. Can't sleep after that. I also have acid reflux but not sure what is causing all of my discomfort. Going to have surgery to remove cyst in two weeks. Has anyone else suffer from a cyst or found what was causing their pain?
