Scientists from the Massachusetts Amherst University decided to investigate what effects certain plant compounds had on the enzymes targeted by diabetes drugs, notably alpha-amylase and alpha-glucosidase and on angiotensin converting enzyme or ACE inhibitors, drugs used for lowering high blood pressure.

They purchased peach, strawberry, blueberry and plain yogurt made by four different producers, as well as a soy brand. Testing in the lab showed that soy blueberry yogurt strongly affected all three of the enzymes while peach and strawberry yogurt affected alpha-amylase and alpha-glucosidase.

The researchers tested the yogurt varieties for antioxidants and plant compounds called phenols. Plain soy yogurt was the most potent on phenol and antioxidant content and it was also very good at inhibiting ACE, enzyme that causes narrowing of the blood vessels and high blood pressure.

Diabetics are usually not advised to eat sweet snacks but soy yogurt and some dairy yogurts rich in fruit seem to have good effects on diabetics who could tremendously improve their health by watching their diets and regular exercise.

Hello.

Well, that is quite a true. It seems that, according to several types of research, soy yogurt can be extremely beneficial in this case,  when it is plain and enriched with different fruits. But when it comes to a  soy yogurt with fruits such as blueberries, for sure it can provide you with high contents of phenol and antioxidants that can control diabetic symptoms.

So, my advice for anyone who is struggling this is to try it, but of course, never skip consulting your health care provider.

I also have heard that kefir is good, so I was wondering do you know how to use kefir grains to make kefir at home? I found an amazing information where it says that this one is really helpful.
