I just had my spincterotomy on 10/29/09. I was supposed to have a spincterotomy and a hemorroidectomy, but the doctor said that I have some kind of inflamation in my colon that she needs to do a colonoscopy to rule out any other underlying deseases before she is comfortable completing the hemorroidectomy. She also said that my fissures were not in the usual place and that is an indication of some other inflamatory disease.
Has anyone else had this happen to them when they underwent the same surgery?
I am feeling about the same as I did before the surgery, pain wise. I can't take much pain medication since I am allergic to everything out there. Hopefully after I have a BM I won't want to die. They gave me a prescription laxative and some pain meds and anxiety meds to help.
If anyone else had this happen to them when they went in to have both the spincterotomy and a hemorroidectomy and one or the other couldn't be completed because of possible other underlying conditions, could you please let me know how it all came out?
Thanks

I lied. It is 5 days after my surgery and I feel like my rear was turned inside out. !
I guess that the shot that they gave me to numb me has worn off and no pain medication will touch the pain. I won't know for two weeks if all that was supposed to come out of this surgery was worth it. I know right now, I am just speaking through the pain, but hopefully, it will have helped in the long run. I can't take anything but regular tylenol and ibruprophin because all other meds make me ill.
Ice and warm sitz baths are my friend.
Take care all.
