I am a 46 year old female. I first went to the doctor in November complaining of joint pain in hands, wrists, ankles-really all joints and some muscle weakness. Arches of feet have been stiff upon walking after periods of sitting or lying down for 6 months or so which also include overall stiffness in hips, knees. Had blood test done to check for infection, rheumatoid, thyroid. all normal. I then have added to those symptoms fatigue and what feels like "someone squeezing my brain" or sponge head, blurry vision-almost like I have a film over my eyes. My head feels very much like it did once or twice in years past when I was severely sleep deprived for a couple of days-waves of this weird sponge, squeezing sensation. It makes me think that my head thing might be lack of good deep sleep. I sleep at night but maybe not deeply. I also wonder if I have covert low thyroid as I am taking t4 thyroid meds but feel like maybe I need the combo of t3/t4 to help. I have read that hypothroidism can have joint, muscle issues. I also have gained some weight as well. Can someone please offer me some advice? I have not been back to the same doctor yet but feel like he will only tell me that the tests were normal. I am so tired of feeling light headed, kind of dizzy, fatigued and of course my sore hands etc. The joints are really the least of my worries at this point. I want to feel better mentally and physically.
I have these exact same symptoms. I am 27. Email me if you see this.

I am 35 and have the same symptoms plus pregnancy induced cardiomyopathy. It does get worse with each child. I have three. The fatigue is getting worse along with the muscle weakness. I have tried to change diet, and take different supplements. I have also tried to exercise to boost energy only to be extremely exhausted the next day. I have increase water intake. The dr keeps telling me I am depressed, but I know that I am not. I still want to go out and do things -be with friends, exercise, play with kids, clean my house- but it is all I can do to just go to work, feed the kids, and put them to bed. Did any of you get another diagnosis? Wondering maybe lupus or another auto-immune disease. All the other test seem to be coming out okay. Frustrated!!! Please post if you have been diagnosed with anything. Looking for answers.

Sounds to me like Mercury Toxicity.
I also was experiencing these symptoms, along with many more. The 'pressure, discomfort, jolting, headache' from the brain is a symptom of Mercury Toxicity along with countless others. The vision being like that is also a sign of it, I get squiggly lines, and also dimming vision/disturbances.. :< Just best to try a detox, it wouldn't hurt either! I've seen loads of improvement.

I'm 43 and also same symptoms for past two years, also off balance. There is little swelling at time around my ankles. I have stinging pain in my neck if sitting for too long. I have a lot of tingling like nerve is pinched in both hands. I do have depression, anxiety, cant get to sleep but all this got stronger after dealing with the above first.

Did you get helpful info?

THanks

Our thought is maybe fibromyalgia, they already checked MS and it was not that. I also have a lot of symptoms like limes disease and poor circulation. I lost job back last Sept. so no insurance to continue text. I am maintained with pain meds and antidepressant and anxiety meds.

I'm a 59 year old female, I feel the same thing that my"brain" feels like it's spongy. I associate the feeling with inflammation because it coincidentally happens at the same time I have pain in my hands or my neck. But I think it could be an effect of taking anti-inflammatory (alleve, or ibupropjen). Even though physicians say my heart and bp. Are fine, I really feel like it ""feels like" its related to fluid circulation, it just has this sensation of ''liquid' wrung out from cells. Although its so hard to explain this, the sensation feels spongy. *I wish somebody has got a diagnosis or references or research on this.

I have feeling many of the same symptoms, with lightheadedness as a symptom for the last two days.  I have been tested for food allergies, including gluten and the came back negative.

After my post, and now in hindsight, I believe my symptom like ''spongy brain'' sensation was because i stopped taking SSRI anti-anxiety prescription, I very slowly titrated down, over many months and stopped completely 10 days ago. I posted 8 days ago and the brain sensation was intense then. Good news is now the spongy brain feeling is stopped.

Just my own personal experience, am not a medical professional etc, am glad I went off the Rx very very slowly,.

I have been having symptoms like yours since 2005. They are gradually getting worse. I've gone to many doctors but I have not received a satisfactory diagnoses. They have all kinds of theories but no concreat answer. I've been told it's sleep apnea, depression, Fibromyalgia, and arthritis among others. I wonder whether it is the beginning of MS, Lupus, Parkinson's disease or some other autoimmune disease. The worst thing is not knowing what it is and feeling that people don't believe me, that I'm just faking it. Sometimes I even doubt myself and think I'm just crazy.

It get's very depressing when I have long periods of heavy pain, dizzyness, nausea, fatigue and weakness. I can't do anything and spend days in bed. But luckily I still have times when I don't feel so bad. I know that excersise should help me but when I am in a lot of pain I find it impossible to even move.

I've taken many different medications in the past and am taking quite a few right now. I take Cymbalta, Gabipenton, Ibuprofen. Tramadol, Oxycodone and some others. I use a C-Pap machine with oxygen for breathing at night for my sleep apnea but it doesn't help very much. The meds help somewhat but not as much as I would like. I just started a Pain Managment program. They said it is very unlikely that people with cronic pain will get 100% relief from pain. They say the medications can only help get rid of about 30 to 60 % of the pain. I have to learn to deal with the pain and chronic illness and work on having the best quality of life I possibly can.

I hope my experience is of some help to you. I hope someday you find your answers and you can have an enjoyable life. I hope that someday they even find a cure for these types of illnesses. Take care.

I don't think that your diagnosis is very likely. There are many diseases that show these symptoms.
