I think I found the answer to losing this weight! So don't lose hope. I gained 30 pounds after just one injection in my ankle and I couldn't lose the weight either. I worked out so much and ate only a select few "clean" foods for 4 months and didn't lose anything. I just ended up looking puffier and had way more stretchmarks. I had searched everywhere for answers. I found a YouTube video that said hardcore workouts and cardio were very bad to do after an injection and could actually pump your cortisol up higher which makes you gain more fat. I found this out after I had already given up working out because I noticed it was making things worse and I didn't want anymore stretchmarks. I had gotten my steroid injection on December 13th of 2016. I realized I was fat by around March or April( it really does sneak up on you when you've never been fat before!). That wasn't too long after the shot, so I know my cortisol levels had to have still been high (I read it could take 6 months to a year for the shot to be completely out of your system. I'm assuming when I started working out for those 4 months, I was just keeping the cortisol levels high which made them stay higher longer. It has now been a year and a few months since the shot. I very recently went to see an Endocrinologist and get my cortisol levels checked and they were normal! I started working out and eating super healthy and I'm losing weight! I've lost around 10 pounds this month so far! I think once you know it's finally out of your system, that's when you have to make the true effort to lose the weight by eating super healthy and doing yoga, cardio, and for me, arm exercises (I gained a lot of weird fat on my upper arms). It sucks knowing you basically have to wait it out before you can do anything about it, but at least I can hopefully help anyone who made the same mistake I did. In the meantime, just be sure to stay away from carbs. I read those really store the fat when you have high cortisol. Right now I'm eating healthy carbs like brown rice and oatmeal. Just be patient right now until you hit the one year mark. My periods were crazy the whole year and very recently are back to normal. I also no longer have irregular bleeding. I hope I could help someone! I know how it feels to be hopeless in this situation. That's why I obsessed over it and wouldn't stop until I got answers. There is hope ❤️ Despite what I read on a lot of these sites, you will eventually be able to lose the weight.
also, that is very interesting that you say that you feel like the drug is rebelling the cleanse... that is very strange and interesting. I wish you luck with your weight loss.
To be honest I was only on the ADD medication for 8 days because I couldn't handle the side effects. I had awful dry mouth and my skin was starting to get so gross looking and I was getting itchy bumps and pimples on my face. I lost like 8 pounds just being on it for 8 days, but I have been eating healthy all month as well as doing yoga and exercising. I'd say that the shot should be out of your system if you got yours the same time as mine, but if you've been working out trying to lose it this whole time then I'm guessing you probably never gave your body the chance to lower the high cortisol. I'd wait a few months of not really working out and just eating healthy, low carb foods and then start working out again and you should start to lose it :) I'm at 148 right now after just one month and the lowest I've read this month was 146.2. I do yoga for 25 minutes to and hour every day as well as 25 minutes on my exercise bike and some short arm, butt, and ab workout videos. ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** posting of private information such as name, phone number or email address is not allowed in order to protect your privacy*** *** Also no websites or social network links *** ***Please read our Terms of Use Follow me and I can talk about this further with you and show you proof of how big and swollen I was and how I am now. There's a huge difference, even if I've only lost around 12 pounds (though 12 pounds is awesome for a month). My periods are finally back to normal, but sadly I noticed my acne is back in full force :( I guess cortisone injections clear up acne which is the only plus I can find with the damn things. Now my hormonal acne is erupting over my face again after a whole year of clear, beautiful skin but I'd rather deal with my acne than to be as big as I was! I was so unhappy and depressed. You know what, I lost hair too! I mean I gained hair in embarrassing places but I feel like the triangles near the front of my head are so much thinner than usual and I've been trying to do peppermint oil black tea treatments on them to help my hair grow back.
