When I lie on my stomach, I start feeling like I do when I cramp during my period. When I get up, sometimes the feeling persists for 10-ish minutes, but other times I'll be fine right when I get up, but an hour later-ish the cramps show up for a few minutes. But, if I lodge a firm pillow under my stomach, then everything's fine, though only if the pillow is adjusted/bunched up just right. Any ideas?
Hi Julianne,
This sounds like gas cramps to me. I'd recommend some peppermint tea, eating slower, and sticking to basic, non-gassy foods (avoid beans). Obviously there are many different causes for stomach problems. If you think it might be related to acid reflux, try taking Zantac or Tums. If the pain is more in the upper section of your belly, that would be related to stomach. If it is lower (towards your gut) that would be relating to your colon. Stomach aches do tend to pass, how long has this been going on? You can see a gastroenterologist if this persists... taking "omeprezol magnesium" is the most incredible medicine that can HEAL stomach ulcers.
Good luck. In the meantime fill up a sock with dry rice and heat it up and put it on your stomach. Get to a doctor if it doesn't pass soon. You will be fine!!
