stopping avonex

I have been unable to find any side-effects from suddenly stopping treatment with Avonex. I see it is used to treat MS. May I ask, why do you want to stop taking it?

Any suddenly stopping of taking prescribed medications is going to affect your system in some way. If you are suffering from MS, and the avonex is usually prescribed for treating symptoms of MS you shouldn’t be stopping using it without consulting with your doctor first. Medications for MS are usually helping in reducing nasty symptoms of this condition and I really can’t think of any good reason why would anyone think about stopping taking it.

Also I am aware that living with this condition is terrible and that sometimes you need a lot of understanding and support but don’t stop using medications which are good for you. I hope that everything turns out just fine.

Turned 65 and Biogen will not help with cost once I am on Medicare, a federal program. I can’t afford $6000.00 a month and I do not know anyone who can. With my Medicare supplement I have to cover 33%, $1980.00. Can not afford that either.

I've been on Avenox for 18 years and have had very good results, recently my insurance had been revised and I've been without my medication for almost a month now, I've been promised it would arrive today for the tenth time. I need to know the side effects of being without this medication for over three weeks?
