I have the same thing & mine started after having sex, probably a little to vigorous & at a weird position, also now having what seems like restless leg syndrome, a dr told me more than likely a B12 deficiency, having sex irritated the nerves....not having enough B12 will cause wwird peoblems like that especially with your nerves

I'm terrified I've had this feeling now since a few days ago when I had very fast loose poo after taking laxative. I have a ovum and feel constant pressure in my anus, there is no pain or blood just this awful twitchy spasms over and over. I'm so scared I have caused nerve damage, I can't pee very well either. I'm gonna be stuck with this permanet feeling for life. Feel like life is over Im so frightened

If it helps I experience this too & I have L5 S1 herniated disc. Frankly I found no cure & mostly I fixed my own back with certain tablets & exercises. Occasionally I get referred pain to the groin, which is mostly when this distant sort of vibrating starts. It might be related to pruritus ani if your experiencing 'itchy bum', sadly no cure there either. Good luck.

OK - What I’m going to be typing is going to be kind of funny but it’s all true. So maybe two months ago I shaved my ‘nether-regions’ and I apparently flew too close to the sun and angered the anus gods. I ended up getting the first hemorrhoid in my life.  Epic fail.

I bought some Asian hemorrhoid cream off Amazon that was rated pretty good and the hemorrhoid went away.

But I too now have that buzzing feeling. And also a dull sensation on or around my rectum. It’s just a weird feeling. Not painful but I’m aware of it and it’s annoying. It kind of feels like my rectum is pulling on my boxers but in reality it isn’t. I don’t know what the deal is or if there’s a cure. This sucks.

I am so excited to find out i am not alone. This is one of those things you notice, then laugh about, then worry about, but dont say a word about. It goes on, you ask is it medical? Did i do something to it? Is it the yoga taking on a new "vibration"? Did aliens plant a transmitter in my arse? Then you tell somebody and immediately regret it. So to see my bottom is not alone is all the comfort i need.

I also have been getting this wierd buzzing on the left side.  I don't drink any caffeine so it can't be that, I also don't do any excercise or weight lifting so it can't be that either.  Mine is about every 15 seconds and only lasts a second or two. ? Has anyone seen a doctor about this? Should I be worried?

This post started a long time ago and I havent seen a definitive medical explanation. I've just started having this issue yesterday. A faint buzzing/vibration in my rectum. Not painful, just odd. It only last for a secnd each time but comes every 7 or 8 seconds and is quite regular (I timed it). Usually happens while sitting or lying, however I have found that lying in certain positions seems to stop it. For example when I lie flat on my back I can feel it but on my side (Think recovery position) it tends to stop.I have had no other medical issues in that region, but I have been doing a new form of fitness recently and it's working muscle groups that I havent really worked before and I have been aching in new areas. I wonder if anyone else is doing any kind of excersise involving core strength and squats?

Because of this I am thinking it's some sort of muscle spasm, as someone else likened it to an eye twitch or muscle twitch. I have also heard that muscle issues in the back/spine can affect other areas of the body s maybe it's actually being caused by a back issue?

I have this roller device for loosengin muscles after a work out and will start using it on my back and see if that helps.

If anyone ever finds a medical explanation please post it.

Thanks

I'm so glad I've found this! I actually was turning my couch upside down looking for someone's phone! There must be an answer? Did anyone ask their doctor?
