suboxone withdrawl

My male friend had years of addiction to percs, hydrocodone and lorecet. He got in a lot of trouble, jail, stealing etc. He attempted to
get off these pills by getting a script for Suboxone. The costly procedure for this was endearing. At times he could not afford it so
he used methodone. Anyway he was on the Suboxone for about 7 months. He used to break them in two to last cause he couldn't afford to keep up the habit. Then suddenly he had a stroke and ended up with major heart surgery including valve replacement and bypass. He is only 45 years old. He lost his ability to speak and cannot communicate. The surgeons will not recognize the withdrawel he must be having from the suboxone. He is shaking, screaming in pain and begging for drugs while he remains locked down in a hospital. It has been 15 days since his addmittance. They attempted to put him in a group home yesturday but since he began holding his chest, screaming in pain and then had a minor seizer, they sent him back to the hospital by ambulance. His suboxone doctor will not respond.
They continue to give him purcaset every four hours which is not enough. Any Suggestions? Should I attempt the overcounter meds for
sleeping and diarea. Any safe suggestions and Ideas will be greatly appreciated. Also he had an heart infection with vegetation that broke off and gave him a stroke. Could this be from withdrawals?

All of these stories have helped somewhat. The bummer part seems that the withdrawl from subs, from most people talking here is pretty similar. I have also come off pretty much everything. Oxy's, Methadone (which was utter hell) i was clean for 15 months but still having strong cravings etc. Just didn't feel right. A friend suggested subs, so i have been on them since April. I'm a full time student, and I have a supportive husband and a 14 month old son. I had decided for mainly financial reasons to stop the subs, but it's day 4 and I'm losing it. My mom came and picked up the baby. I'm feeling like now just isn't the time to try to quit. i can't keep a thought organized in my mind. I tried to see a doctor yesterday and he basically laughed at me. You know how it is if you go to the er too. Especially if you were like me and every er within the state has a note stating I'm a drug seeking addict. so basically I guess for now i will go see my sub dr and go from there.

Been wanting to chime in but after 6 days of hell and starting the seventh day of full blown withdrawls I think I can feel a let up!!! I can only hope that the worst is behind me .It was and to a lesser degree still is a battle! This is my opinion and I am sharing to educate. I gave up alcohol and everythimg else 16.5 years ago thru the twelve steps and the relationship with God that they gave me! Having said that I started having severe back problems 3 years ago and was prescribed pain meds which eventually took over . When I saw this I knew I had to quit or else........ So for the last 8 months been taking subs at 8 mg per day but hate to be a slave to anything so thats what brings me to today! This stuff is a S.O.B. I hope the worst is behind me and I wish I would have never taken these! I was in severe withdrawl from the opiates for two to three days before the subs even worked. I hope that this isnt a false alarm and i'm gonna be back in hell soon, but if your considering suboxen you think real hard!!!!!!! Seems some weined down but I wasnt able to do that because I felt like I was in constant withdrawls ( not horrible but bothersome ) . Ive been reading all these posts for days looking for assurances that this woulxnbe over in a few days-not so! I think that if you an bite the bulletnfrom the opiates , jst do it!!!! If you on the other hand cant quit your demon then maybe you should try the subs, but be prepared its a killer withdrawl!!! Good luck

I am a recovering Heroin/Cocaine addict of 15 years.(2 years sober) Well not exactly sober... I have been on Suboxone. I started out at 2 - 8 mg tablets daily, and now I'm at 3/4 of an 8m g tablet a day. I chose to come off of it real real slow.. I can't tell you what to do, but I strongly suggest going off of it slowly. Suboxone has totally improved my life! The therapy that I've been attending has also been a big help. Every day I walk out of that place feeling like a million bucks!

I was using heroin and reluctantly got myself on a MMT program for 3 years. ...i got sick of the "liquid handcuffs" having to get to the clinic everyday so naturally suboxone treatment seemed much more appealing having to go 2 times a month opposed to daily.i took the suboxone for 6 months (never took full dose,sometimes skipping a couple days,eventually tapering down to none)HOLY S**T!!!!!! Never in my wildest dreams did I anticipate W/D's this severe.high fevers,insomnia,vomiting,diarrhea just terribly unbearable.i have no idea how long this will last,not sure that I want to know!!! I'm just focusing (to the best of my ability)on the prize on the other side of this. ...sick of being imprisoned to these most evil drugs.ALL OF THEM!!

I’ve been taking 0.5 mg of suboxone film every other day for a week. I cut into 16 pieces. I want to get off it but my private psychiatrist wants his money and is not helping me!!!! Help. I feel awful and I don’t want to continue suboxone!!!!!
