I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, Ehlers-Danlos, myofascial pain, Lyme, mold, etc, etc. I had scheduled surgery for my 2 degenerated discs in my cervical spine and my preop surgery blood results revealed something interesting: low TCO3. Translation: too low bicarbonate, which causes metabolic/respiratory ACIDosis and/or metabolic/respiratory ALKAlosis. Basically, it means that my blood is too acidic and since I’ve been chronically dehydrated for a decade (arm symptoms for about 9 agonizing years), my body can’t rid itself of toxins. Being chronically dehydrated is probably what caused most of my spinal degeneration issues. It’s like engine oil and cars; cars will grind to a halt and cease to function without it. Our bodies disintegrate without proper hydration AND electrolytes.
I’ve seen at least 10 specialists and ultimately, it still took my own perseverance and diligent detective work to finally figure this out. Now what I need to tease out is this: are my kidneys not producing enough bicarbonate due to years of damage? Or are my kidneys just overwhelmed from being worked too hard (not enough water) and causing me to tire too fast (arms, especially) to the point where I’m gasping for air and expelling the bicarbonate faster than they can produce it (ie. compensation through respiratory acidosis/alkalosis)?
Do you know that the doctor that did my preop blood work (my primary that thinks I’m a hypochondriac by now

Like others in this thread, I have had the same sensation/experience happen to me on multiple occasions. I have seen my regular Doctor, and my cardiologist. They look at me like I'm crazy. Happened to me in the middle of the night a few days ago and was so severe that it actually woke me up. Very disconcerting to say the least. My question to people on here would be did you have the Covid 19 vaccine? I had the initial shot and first booster 2 weeks later. I do not remember this ever happening to me prior to receiving the "vaccine". It happens so randomly that I can't find any kind of common trigger or cause that I can relate to the experience.
