I am 77, and was diagnosed with a meningioma about 2 years ago. After 20 months, a follow-up MRI showed some slow growth (to 2.6 cm), so I scheduled surgery after satisfying a couple things on my bucket list - hunting in Arkansas and skiing in Vail, Colorado. I was home two days after the surgery in Florida, and walking my usual 4 miles in the morning within two weeks. I have always kept myself in good physical condition with light weightlifting and speed-walking, and am looking forward to the doc telling me I can get back to those. It's easier to maintain physical conditioning rather than it is to regain it. So far (11 days post-op), no unusual side effects except loss of appetite, probably due to the anti-seizure medication that I hope I will be taken off of soon. I would be interested to learn how long others had to wait to resume normal physical activities.

I'm now 10 months post op, slightly better, still driving short distances, working part time, left sided weakness, dizziness and ataxia remains but I hired helped & friends are supportive so I'm trying to see the bright side to recovery. They say we all are different. I say see where you are in 1-2 years., then accept your new life.

My god daughter had a similar operation to yours and she was recommended to either have the injection in the spine (can't think of the name offhand) which numbs the lower half of the body, or a Caesarian. She opted for the spinal injection. The medics said this because of,pressure and straining. She is absolutely fine. Good luck to you

I had surgery to remove a meningioma almost 2 years ago. I resumed my normal activity (running, cycling, kayaking) by 4 months. I still have some loss of feeling in my scalp, but nothing that is bothersome or alarming. I also have not yet regained my sense of smell (may will, maybe not), which affects tasting flavors. All in all, I consider myself very fortunate, and I'm grateful for my amazing doctor. Best of luck to you in your recovery.

Hello,
I know this was typed a long time ago, but everything you said sounds exactly like what my dad has. He had a tumour removed from his right frontal lobe on Wednesday. He has been getting some tests wrong and the doctors are saying his short term memory isn't great. I wondered how you got on? And joe you are now?
Thank you in advance
