Hi, I had all of these symptoms until recently and just couldn't lead a normal life. My doctor diagnosed me with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and basically said that I couldn't be cured. However, completely by accident I discovered that I was yeast intolerant. I have now cut out all yeast-containing products, alcohol, and sugar from by diet and am at least 95% better. I can't believe the difference!! I have my life back. Please try it out just in case you are the same. Hope this helps.

Try getting your levels tested to see if you have CELIACS DISEASE. I have had most of these symptoms you describe and improved a lot since going gluten free. Wheat is often a cause of many health problems these days. Particulary in relation to lowered immune system. I had been unwell for a period of 5 years until the Doctor did a blood test for celiacs. So I REALLY recommend you ask to be tested for celiacs disease.

I need Help! I am a 20 yr old female.
Here is a list of my symptoms:
-Swollen glands in neck, which are also painful, and have been swollen since before christmas. Doc said they aren't hugely swollen.
-Fatigue that isn't relieved by rest.
-Sleeping for long periods of time, when I wake it feels like I have a brick in my head its so heavy. The sleep is also really deep. needing a nap in the middle of the day.
-Having energy for a few hours and then it feels like someone has pulled the plug.
-pain under arms and in my lower abdomen.
- Poor short-term memory and concentration problems.
-Regular feelings of dizziness, and when I'm walking sometimes it feels like the ground is rising up to meet me, and I feel like my legs aren't really there.
-weight gain, ( I had lost weight and its all back on plus some)
- regularly light-headed.
- regular headaches
- thinning hair, dry skin.
-diarrhoea at least once a week, (i'm not eating anything different, and there doesn't seem to be a specific food that sets it off.)
- stiff muscles and muscle pain, occasional numbness espec in hands,
I also had a tremor in my right hand the other day, it only lasted a few minutes but my arm remained weak for hours afterwards.
- really heavy painful periods (although I have had these for quite some time), also my cycle is getting longer.
I first went to doc in jan where they ran bloods everything was normal except TSH was 8.96 normal range is between 0.5 and 5.
I was told that I had an underactive thyroid but that they had to wait 6 weeks and recheck it, because my t4 was 15.1 and was in normal range as was T3. Second blood test showed TSH had come down to 5.96 however t4 had dropped to 11.1 normal range is between 9 and 20. So it is still normal. The doctor wanted to keep seeing me and test again in 2-3 months time which will be the beginning of may.
The doctor told me the last time I was there that my Tsh alone wouldnt be causing my symptoms and that she doesnt know what is wrong with me, she just said that every time she sees me its another piece of the puzzle. She said that perhaps we have just jumped to the wrong conclusion because of the Tsh and maybe it isnt the thyroid that has been causing the symptoms, and it was just the obvious assumption because of th abnormal TSH and the fact that hypothyroidism runs in the women in my Father's family.
But to be honest I don't know how much more of this I can take, everyone seems to have an opinion whats wrong with me aside from the doctors, and I have noticed mood swings which really isn't like me. I had to take time off work, and then had to go back because the isolation on top of feeling so wretched was beginning to get me down. I don't drink alcohol very often (less than once a month) and I don't take drugs, nor have I ever dabbled, I don't smoke (although both my parents do), I've been so tired I haven't been able to go out with my friends, or if I do I always have to go home really early. They have been really understanding but it's hard because in the surface I don't really look sick, tired most of the time but not gaunt. I've had friends ask if it could be in my head, I've even wondered that myself, but in my heart of hearts I don't believe that it is, I just want my life back! The doctor has told me she doesn't think its in my head which is reassuring in some small measure, but I still have no answers. I have went from someone who was rarely sick to someone who is attending the doctor once every two weeks, and no offence to the doc but I'm sick of the sight of her.
I've been missing uni and am finding it almost impossible to keep on top of the work load, I'm frightened this is going to cost me my career.
I have tried everything I can think of from multivitamins to herbal supplements ,to trying to limit the amount of sleep to allowing myself to waken naturally, tried only sleeping in 4 hour blocks, eating really healthily, drinking lots of water.
I also can't seem to cope with a lot of heat but I am really intolerant of the cold, I feel cold when my friends all think its not.
I really hope someone out there can tell me they know how I feel. and have some idea what might be wrong with me. I'm at my wits end. I am on no treatment from the doctor, she recommended the multivitamin/ multimineral supplement and has ok'd the stuff from the health-shop.
I also have been told that I seem to be having very frequent viral infections, i'm not over one before the other hits, and my immune system seems very suppressed.
I've also felt underneath my tongue swell up from time to time.
any insight or advice would be gr8tly appreciated.

Have u had a cancer screening? I dont mean to scare u but get that done. The swollen glands go to ears nose throat doctor most times it will b stones in ur salvatory glands. That causes pain in throat and ur glands swell due to infection because of salava back up and they may need to b removed,U also sound like some menapause,my blood work came back normal the first time but it came back bad the second.I do have hypo thryoid,I have no energy onlt for a few hours and then im down,ur doctor needs to start u on low doses of L-Thyroxine stop taking all ur herbs before ur next test that will affect ur levels stop about 2 weeks before she checks ur thyroid levels again if gone untreated it can cause a lot of ur symptoms and it can b fatal if gone untreated. It also explains ur weight gain .Stop taking all suppliments plus multi vitamin and get ur test done again let me know k.I am a ex nurse and I know doctors will tell u that vitamins and herbs dont make a difference,But they do.

Hi to everyone out there!

I posted on here about 5 months ago and I was having horrible symptons much to the same as everyone else who has posted on here. I am now 23 & I recently in January finally got my tonsils out like I & my parents have been trying to do for ever since I was little and I just have to share that I feel 100% better. All my symptoms have dissappeared. Ive lost heaps of weight, no joint or muscle pains, thyroid is perfect...Im not even tired anymore. The doc said one of my tonsils took up 3/4 of my mouth and the other was under developed & that they both were subsiquetly rotting for years and spewing toxins into my body. So to all you out there if your stumped for answers try an ENT (Ear Nose & Throat) Doc cause the cure could just something as simple as getting rid of your tonsils.

Good Luck to everyone, I hope you find something that brings you as much relief as I got!

This is so crazy to read that other people MY AGE are having these same symptoms! For a while now I have been researching my symptoms and found nothing until this morning I woke up with an unexplained sore tonsils feeling. This is not the first time this has happened to me so I start to type in "constant swollen..." and before I could finish typing this website popped up. I too am 20 years old female and have almost all of the symptoms listed. I tried to go to my doctor and explain the way I have been feeling but she seems to think I am young, healthy, and paranoid. Along with your symptoms I also seem to have bad blood circulation. My feet and sometimes hands are always cold(we are talking cold as ice even to touch...I put them on my boyfriend cause he is always warm but he practically screams every time i do cause they are so damn cold LOL). I have to wear socks or footsies and even then sometimes they are still freezing. I am always tired and have found one thing that makes me feel better is going to sleep before 1AM and getting like 4-6 hours of sleep. When I get less sleep I feel more energized as if the sleep drains my energy!!! I like really hot showers to the point wear it burns, I don't think its burning but people tell me it is and you can visible see red marks and possible heat rash even when I get out of the shower sometimes.  I am known for having a high tolerance to pain but it has also been said that maybe my body has a bad sense of....feeling? or something to do with my nerves. I wear glasses and contacts because I have poor eye sight. I wear my contacts for about 10hrs a day and have for couple years now. I have big blue eyes that seem to be sensitive to light often. I also recently got a blood test done, and like many of you my blood work came back normal. HOWEVER, I did find out that I have the blood type O- which is known to be the rarest of blood types....maybe this has something to do with it? I know many people my age don't know their blood types but you guys should ask to find out on your next blood test. My bones crack a lot. from my hips and pelvic region to arms and shoulders, knees and legs, toes, fingers....pretty much everywhere. I have joint and muscle pain everyday and sometimes it seems like unexplainable tender spots. I've been getting bad headaches at least twice a week now and the other night it was accompanied by a small nose bleed. I constantly forget how to spell simple words that I understand I know how to spell them on other days. I seem to get sick twice a year, usually during the major season changes, just before Summer and just before Winter. I seem to be very sensitive to temperature change, also because my body aches really bad when cold. I feel nauseous a lot lately! My periods seem normal and when I have abdominal pains its USUALLY centrals in the lower left(my left) side of my body near the navel. My dentist noted that my gums bleed even though I do floss every night. I feel that something is wrong with me there just doesn't seem to be a diagnosis...I go to ucla and i work in the film industry, I am typically a really positive and happy person. I do however get depressed sometimes(this is not too often but seems to occur at night). I do believe I have anxiety and my doctor confirms it but I do not take medication for it and I seem to handle it very very well on my own. I sweat a lot and have prescription deoderant to help prevent it...I feel like I could say a thousand more things about this so if you are interested in talking about this or wanting to hear more please do not hesitate to email me at ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** private e-mails not allowed*** Please read our Terms of Use

I RECOMMEND YOU GUYS LOOK into bad blood circulation...if this is a possible cause then it really comes down to changing your diet, exercise, and lots of water drinking. I also do a 3 day juice cleanse which was horrible but did make me feel a little better when it was done....if this is something you may be interested in trying, I recommend you watch the documentary called, "Sick, Fat, and nearly Dead"

Hi,

Have you ever looked into the symptons of M.E previously known as yuppie flu. There are loads of symptons related to M.E & vary in severity.

I feel exactly the same at this moment and want to know how you've got on as I see the post is from over a year ago.

This sounds like adrenal fatigue to me. Google it and watch videos by Dr. Lam and Dr. Agrios on YouTube on adrenal fatigue. I have it and it has almost ALL of the symptoms you describe.
