Genital Herpes is definitely something l should get checked for. My entire genital area is red, itchy, with long red cracks on inner thighs, and there is burning that is unbearable. l'm constantly scratching but l don't have crabs. l can't sit still without scratching. l have one painful sore that hurts so bad and is so itchy. l can't use too much soap when l clean the area because it makes the itching worse.

Dealing with this right now. It normally happens after my period and I related it to irritation from my pads causing dryness and so on, but this past cycle I used a menstrual cup. All was good until yesterday or the day before. Slight itching and a tiny bit of burning when I peed. Now it is terrible! It happens often, now not so often as it used to be after every period. My inner lips swell and became red as well as near and around my clitoris and vulva. I know the only way to make it stop and go away is to not itch. It is so hard to but it is the only way. It goes away after a couple days of no itching. Could this all be a yeast infection? There is no discharge or foul odor. :'(

For the last 6 months this has happened to me on the last day of my period. The first month it happened I suffered for over a week. The next month, same thing... After the week everything goes back to normal.. So what I did was took some of my "raw organic unrefined coconut oil" (which can also be safely used as an AMAZING lubricant during intercorse) applied it topically all over my vagina 3 times a day the day it starts "flaring up" and it's gone by the next day... Literally gone. I also alternate between the coconut oil and peroxide (ONLY 3% from the drugstore) it does not burn and takes the itch/burn away immediately. I'm convinced this is a hormone thing for me anyway. It would also be helpful to have a more alkaline diet as well. Good luck!

Try putting  a KY jelly or lubricant ,it does wonders .its due to dryness as moisture is taken away during the periods from vagina .it becomes okay in 2-3 days .try keeping it dry and moisturize with KY jelly or lubricant  this will reduce itchiness alot .

Out of all the posts I have not once read anything to do with what I suffer from ...just a thought but perhaps maybe some of you have genital psoriasis...i have suffered my whole life with psoriasis and there is such thing look it up very itchy but no swelling painful as well try vagisil or any vitamin D cream as that is what cures psoriasis without damaging the skin and promoting new cell growth rather than thinning the gentalia tissue

If you're wearing a pad the constant moisture being trapped there can cause the swelling and itching.

Hi Ladies,

Had this problem myself recently and wanted to share my experience. It all began with a really bad yeast infection (my first YI in probably 10 years). I used an off brand 1 dose treatment and all seemed like it was mostly better, but I still had some irritation after about a week and a half, so I used another 1 dose monistat treatment. I didn't have any more discharge after that point and thought the YI was gone, but I also had my period at some point shortly thereafter.

Towards the end of my period I began feeling more irritated again, and never really felt like my vagina was 100% back to normal. I had read about using coconut oil and was applying it inside and outside my vagain a few times a day once my period stopped. I also began taking a probiotic (Pearlz YB). I tried to have sex with my boyfriend a couple of times during this time and the second time my vagina became very inflamed and irritated afterwards.

A couple of days later, I began having some discharge again and went to urgent care and was prescribed Diflucan (they did not swab me). I ended up taking 2 doses of Diflucan and making some changes in my routine during my most recent period, since the irriation seemed to coincide with my period ending, the same as some of yours.

I bought a diva cup to use during my period along with organic cotton panty liners. I had been using Always brand tampons and panty liners before, and I felt like they were contributing to the irritation I was having. I also began taking Pro-Women probiotics daily (stronger than the Pearlz), and doubling up on the daily dose towards the end of my period. I think in my case perhaps the coconut oil was preventing a YI from flaring up badly, but it never really went away without me taking Diflucan.

I know a lot of you here have been tested and don't have a YI, but you still may want to consider changing your period routine and taking probiotics. These changes seemed to help me, so I hope they help you too. Good luck!

My issue has nothing to do with my period. It ended, a week later I had "sex" with my boyfriend. (I'm not on tge pill, and we don't like condoms, so we play without actual intercourse a lot) The next day, I'm swollen and itchy. This has never happened before, and I know we are both disease free. However, it's beem a week since this started, and it doesnt seem to be getting better. I've treated with Desatin, but mostly I've just tried to leave it alone. I'm just concerned now bexayse I thought I'd see/feel improvement within 2 or 3 days...it's been 7 with no changes. Heat actually helps for a while (warm wash cloth applied to area) but relief is short lived. :(

Its itching very badly in the walls of labia minora And its not paining
But its irritating..and i burning. The walls become red when ever i try to scratch.i dont find any kind of abnormal discharge . But when i observed i kinda found small thick white particle inside my vagina hole. Not huge amount of it. Bt little bit small white curd type of a thing
