At first I thought that maybe it was a yeast infection, but I haven't had any discharge at all, actually my vagina is very dry. Please if you know what it is, or know how to cure it let me know!

I don't know where to post this but thought maybe here may help some. My labia started itching right at the pubic hair line, "intensely" 5 or so years ago. Gyno could not help, skin doctor prescribed a cream which did help but after a month off the cream, it returned full force.
Recently, I itched so hard while sleeping I caused an ulcer to develop. I put Clacium Bentonite clay on it and the itching stopped immediately. Wow, relief. It's been 5 days and the ulcer is healing, no more pain. Am still putting the clay powder on once a day and no itch!

To all ladies suffering from itching & burning while having all lab test results negative.. please read my story, i apologize for it being long but so much i went through the last 4 months until i found the answer. I do truly hope it would be the answer to your problem as well. A few months ago i started experiencing some discomfort & slight itchiness around my vagina entrance and there was some slight discharge. I immediately thought it was a yeast infection although the last time i had one was about 20 years ago. At that time i was in college and had a horrible diet of sugar & junk food. So i was surprised to see it came back since i eat pretty clean now, so i bought a tube of canesten cream and tried applying natural remedies like ACV & Hydrogen Peroxide. But the itch just got worse, the external of my labia itch & burns like crazy. After about a month of this, i went to an Obgyn clinic where the doctor performed a pap smear & swab test. The test came back clear except for candida (yeast) and so he prescribed me nystatin pills for 5 days. After that 5 days, the internal itch totally cleared, but the external itching persisted. My labia was itchy & burning with prickling sensations and it just kept getting worse. By this time i was carefully washing all my undies by hand to make sure everything was clean. I usually just wash the delicate undies by hand and the rest just goes into the washing machine. After another month of this i went to the pharmacy for Diflucan as i read about it frequently on the net. After the first dose, not much improvement and i went for a 2nd & 3rd dose every 3 days. I thought i had a persistent yeast infection. Waited a week to see improvements but the itching & burning was ruining my life. So i decided to go to the hospital & see a specialist. He took a swab for lab tests and while waiting for the result, he gave me a course of metronidazole antibiotics since he suspects bacterial vaginosis based on my white discharge, even though there were no smell. I finished the course but the burning was worse than ever, it felt like the discharge was burning my skin. I was already in a state of depression. When the test results came back, i was devastated. They didnt find anything. No bacteria no yeast nothing. I cried and broke down in the doctors office. I had been suffering for 3 whole months and i see no end in sight. The doctor took another culture swab for lab testing in case they missed something the first time.. and since i was obviously miserably uncomfortable. I went home & got my period, i dreaded wearing pads since it was rubbing on my already irritated skin. I was also too depressed to wash my undies by hand so i just machine wash everything. Then to my surprise i started feeling better on the 3rd day of my period.. It didnt go away completely but it wasnt burning anymore. My mood started lifting up a bit, i bought calamine cream to soothe the area and it really helped, i even started washing my undies by hand again. I wanted so much to get better, to heal, have my life back. The test results came back and they finally found a mild bacterial infection of Streptococcus Faecalis which is fairly common and came from poop. I was so relieved and I thought that this was it, finally the right diagnosis. I took a 10 day antibiotics course for this. However i felt better for a while but towards the end of the course, i still felt some itching & burning but it wasnt so bad. I was lathering on the calamine cream on the whole area and it seemed to help. And this sparked my intuition, i had been googling on this topic of vaginal itching for the past 4 months and all the while i was focusing on the more serious diseases like bacterial vaginosis, persistent candida, cytolitic vaginosis, lactobacillus overgrowth and i can go on & on.. detergent allergy was always listed in the articles but it didnt strike me as a possible cause of my problem because i have never been allergic to any soap or detergent in my 40 years of living. But then i remembered that i switched to a new powder detergent about the same time this problem started. So i took all my undies, washed them again with the old liquid detergent that i used previously for years and rinsed so many times so that whatever residue was gone. It has been one week now, and Im happy to say i found the cause of my itchy burning labia. It just all makes sense now. My undies were washed in two batches, one by hand using the powder detergent, which was causing the allegic reaction and the other batch that i washed in the machine using a liquid detergent that ive used for years, that gave me temporary relief. And no wonder only calamine cream helped with the burning and itching. All the other fungal creams and antibiotic gels made it worse. So yes ladies, the symptoms can be really confusing.. but if your tests all comes back negative, just give this a try. Wash all your undies with a mild liquid detergent or even just with warm water, make sure u rinse a few times. Then give it about a week to see improvements. Slather on soothing calamine cream, i prefer the cream version as its moisturizing. Sometimes the answer is just so simple that our mind just cant see it. Good luck ladies. Much love.
