Hi.

My mother will have her gallbladder removed in three weeks. She has a couple large stones and her doctor recommended her she needed her gallbladder removed to prevent future problems e.g. gallbladder disease.

Fortunately, my mother's diet is pretty healthy and does not include dairy or greasy/fatty foods. Her diet consists of almond milk, fruits/vegetables (including avocado), skinless boneless chicken.

Besides avoiding dairy, greasy foods, and artificial sweeteners, is there anything else?

Besides the possible loss of appetite, weight loss, and back pain, is there any other possible symptom that she will experience later on?

I've had nausea and vomiting too. Oddly, I've had constipation and loss of appetite. I've been taking a lot of meds to get digestive system right, but one doctor suggested for nausea that I take a Prilosec around dinner time. It works. When I wake up in the morning I'm as not nauseated as much as I had been. Give it a try.

Ya it's the anastasia they give it shuts everything down and you have no movements, take some stool softerners or a mild laxative, because when u do go and you did not take anything it's going to hurt so bad from being backed up for so long

Jennifer my name is Connie. As of recently I'm having the same issue. I had my surgery 2-1-2013. I don't know what to do either. My doctor is convinced this is not associated with the surgery. He's giving me a sonogram 3-1-2013 and I'm to see him 2-27-2013 for blood work too. This is crazy. Wish I would've kept mine and managed from there. Now I feel I have a whole set of other problems

Hi name is Rita.Ihad my gallbladder removed just over two weeks ago-14th feb 2013-all went well-you have to give yourself plenty time to get over the op and the shock to your body-it all takes a while to get back to normal-would advise you to watch what you eat and drink too-small meals and often is the best format its said.i cant wait to have a normal life again and not have to deal with the horrific pain i had before the op.It used to happen any where at any time and just wore me out.You cant expect miracles, and you cant rush the healing process. It takes its own time, just be patient.

Hi, I'm 3 months post op and don't have much of an appetitie. As a result, I'm losing weight and feel tired. My digestion is also a little off. Did this eventually settle for you?
