Hi sorry, not that temporal Arteritis person but it is the same story as my mum's & she too complained of terrible headaches on one side mainly after taking Prednisone . We thought the headaches were probably caused/ made worse by temporal biopsy which the hospital gave her to ascertain whether she had Arteritis (Temporal.Giant cell, or Rheumatoid Arteritis ) She did not. By then she had been on low dose prednisone for 3 months then 60mg when in the hospital. After they ruled this disease out they had to gradually wean her off the prednisone , My mum was elderly (84 )had been diagnosed with conjestive heart failure 20 years prior & had been disabled for 10 years when a Stenosis operation left her with minimal balance so she had some issues .Her mind was pretty sharp for her age .Prior to the prednisone she had minimal forgetfulness especially when tired or upset but prednisone rocketed her into a new world of crazy . Massive blood sugar swings & the attendant behaviour, delusions fear paranoia, 6 months after starting the prednisone she died . only 5 days ago so still awaiting coroners report. So cannot say what caused headaches but it seems logical that Prednisone caused this side effect. Although she had not been eating for 4 weeks due to nausea, so I also thought that would be causing headache .The day before she died she had trouble putting words together , she would say something & then signal to me in frustration that she was trying to say something else. She said at one point "I am a pig" I said no, no you are not , You are a child of God sweetheart. thinking she was trying to tell me why she was n't eating .she had been a big lady, although she was n't eating she still looked ...well bloated. Now she is dead ,I think she was trying to tell me she was a Guinea Pig. I look at all these stories & the patterns/symptoms are so similiar that I cannot understand why Prednisone is allowed .Where is informed consent? I hope that you are ok I see you posted over a year ago. Hopefully you came through it & are free of prednisone.
Did your rash clear up? I know this is an old post but just read while trying to find help for same problem. How did you treat this? Did it go away?
