I completely agree. It was a hard and painful recovery, but here I am 10 months later SO GLAD I did it!

Hi. Can you please tell me how long it took for you to be pain free and feel normal again. I am 2 weeks po and still have a lot of pressure and my butt aches a lot as the day wears on or after a bm. I am beginning to feel a bit despondent after going through so much pain the first week especially. This continual aching is really wearing me down. I hope this will e entually go away as I am losing hope.

Yes my first week I have never experienced such pain in my whole life..!!!! I too had morphine.. I am 3 weeks almost now, but still taking pain killers, anti inflammatories some days.. Do you get the heavy feeling in your butt, like pressure pushing down..I cannot stand that aching feeling..Some days I really worry that it may never go away and it makes me so miserable.. How are you now?

Anyone experiencing the inability to urinate? It’s so embarrassing I have to use the bath or shower. I called the surgeon and was told it’s normal and will get better. 10 Days po and only able to urinate “normally “ in the middle of the night and very first thing in the morning otherwise off to the shower

Hi doc, I had the THD surgery performed about 6 months ago and still experience pain and discomfort after a BM. I have been using stool softeners since the procedure but the pain still persists. Vaginal Sex is also difficult as I feel a strange tugging in my anus. Is this normal ? I went back to the surgeon and he said the hems are cleared but that I had some anal fissures possibly due to the surgery. I have been treating it for 3 weeks now with no improvement. Does this get better?
