I'm 14 days out today. Feel a lot better but I still have itching and it feels like I have something in my rear end constantly. Been doing fiber and colace. Been trying to be more active but I get sore after a while. Is anyone else experiencing these feeling. Is 14 days out and feeling like this normality?

I'm about 5 days out, and I'm feeling pretty good. Yes, it feels like something is still kind of stuck back there, and it's itchy, but I didn't have any pain after day one. I didn't take any pain meds, just stool softener. The first two days after, I was a bit tied to my toilet. You get about 10 seconds to get there. I've rested more than usual because I've nothing to do, not working out til tomorrow. It looks fantastic, I'm sure in a few weeks it will feel normal. My only complaint was gas and indigestion, which has improved.

I had a GREAT experience! Was a little sore after the post-op numbing meds wore off -- I was very numb for a long time, thanks doctor! I took 1 pain pill that evening. None since. No pain at all, unless I actually touch the area. Today is day three. I'm walking around, very gingerly, and feel pretty darn good. ALL of my external hemmorhoids, thromboses and regular, are GONE -- those were the ones that were so incredibly painful. Pre-op I followed the doc's orders - Miralax, enemas, etc. Post-op I'm taking Miralax, Ducolease, mineral oil, lots of water, psyllium husks (in my oatmeal) and more water! Passing frequent small amount of gas, a little blood, and a little very, very soft stool (of course I was worried about that) and have a weird "full" feeling in my lower abdomen (due to swelling from internal stitches). I did have a small amount of mild abdominal cramping the first afternoon but that was due to having a colonoscopy at the same time and was expected. VERY PLEASED with this procedure.

Not true in my case. My procedure took care of the externals too.

Additional info: it only hurt during and after a BM (not agony just stingy) and I realized it was stinging because the area was not completely clean. I found this to be a SOLVE: (1) cut a soft cotton t-shirt into small squares. (2) get a hand mirror and a small bowl of water (3) after a BM, do a preliminary cleaning as usual, then lay down, use the mirror and square(s) dipped in water to gently blot and clean as you would a baby to ensure all the area gets very clean. The nature of the tissue in that area is so full of nooks and crannies, and you can't wipe, and the post-op laxatives and stool softeners make the fecal matter very wet and easily "upsplashed" into all the tissue - very different from passing a very formed stool --so this method really helped me solve the dilemma.

Hello, I have grade III internal hemorrhoid with no pain, and only bleed during BM. I can push the thing back but it will come back out. I am struggling with the decision of THD? Please any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Today is day 3 for me. Whoever said Tylenol and back to work in a week is crazy. The pain is still intense today and without looking can tell something is pretty swollen down there. Hopefully each day gets a little better.

Your post made me chuckle. Things will get better. Days 2 and 3 were the worst. I had this procedure 2 years ago and all is well, but I don’t think I’d do it again. I still remember the pain like it was yesterday.

Just make sure the doctor plans to prescribe you some potent pain meds afterward. I was given tramadol (didn’t touch my pain) then Vicodin (keeps me awake). I also spent half my time in a hot bath. That was the only thing that gave me some relief. Also take a good week off to recover. I was told I could have it done Thurs and return to work Monday... not!
