To the guest who talked about using high doses of imodium/loperamide: Please, everyone, be aware of the cardiac risks. There have been deaths with very high doses . Just Google "loperamide heart risks deaths" for more information. Yes, it's definitely a God-send for stomach issues. And a higher than regular die probably won't do much harm if taken only for a very short period of time such as several days. But these very high doses people are messing with have proven deadly. Also potentially deadly is a bad case of fecal impaction; that is, severe constipation and being severely backed up to the point where you can rupture your intestines. Again, this isn't to scare anyone, and if you are careful to drink plenty of water, and have a gentle stool softener on hand (liquid magnesium citrate which you can find with laxatives is also a good option. Drinking a bit each day will help. Drinking a half to a whole bottle will, frankly, gave you sh*tting your brains out lol, but that's sure better than impaction!) just in case its needed, and avoiding binding foods, and don't do this for more than a few days you'll likely be just fine. But I wanted to put this warning out there so you can all be informed and educated and in a better position to make a good decision for yourself. Do your research and use common sense, don't overdo it, and chances are you'll be fine and will be glad you used loperamideto aid you in symptom relief. But know the risks, talk with a doctor, and be careful, as just because something was safe and/or effective for one person doesn't mean it will be for another. I want to say those with pre existing heart conditions should further research as well. Good luck, all! I believe in you! And I know the awful feeling of withdrawal firsthand. Be well. Love yourself. Peace.
