I'd gladly go into a doctor to get on meds to help with hydrocone withdrawl. I dont want to take them ever again, and ive never had them prescribed. I can do the withdrawls standing on my head..usually ..get drunk stay that way for 2 days. Its the ''after' the 'i was ran over by a bus'. So the question is..HOW do i tell a dr, ? They are NOT as understanding as you'd think. Tell em your a smoker and dear god sin city.
Your situation sounds soo familiar...gee, it almost mirrors mine! To start off, drinking your way thru withdrawals is just egging on another addiction way worse than you could ever imagine..if opiate withdrawal seems bad..it isn't sh*t compared to DT's from alcohol! I drank for only 3 years..not even 3 years and in that time I almost lost my life due to the drinking...my pancreas burst and I got what is called "retroperitoneal abcesses" that came dam close to killing me not to mention 2 months in the hospital, no eating for 6 weeks and the most horrific pain a human being could ever be subjected to! Just prior to that I had detoxed off methadone..360mgs a day..and I still didn't feel normal and was still drinking...well after the hospital and all the narcotic painkillers for over 2 months, I was in opiate withdrawal again and my surgeon could have cared less..thank god for my urology doc...he rocked! Wow..as I type out my story, it is wicked involved and lengthy, so I will put it in a nutshell...Be as honest as you can with your doc..I mean brutal honesty..in the long haul you will be glad you did, you will more than likely have some medical professionals that label you and treat you as if you just don't matter..but if you stay honest and try and do as they say..you can't go wrong..it is when you lie to them and they catch you, they will never trust you again and that sucks!!! Sometimes you may have to search for that one doc who you feel will trust you, and that trust goes both ways as well!! I have been thru hell and back, I am now doing very well and can really see where my hard work has paid off! Good luck and take that leap of faith!
converesly, I went to my doc for Chantix to quit smoking...it worked, but I relasped 2 years ago...tho I only smoke 1/2 to a pack a day now...was 2+ 1?2 3 yrs ago...I WOULD be embarrases to go back, but think he would understand..
bottom line---be honest w/ your doc..if that doenst work, see another--you DO need help to get thru this
