LOL me too, smoke some weed 3 days ago and since then everytime i smoke i feel it. i researched a bit and i think its caused by anxiety, something about the flight or fight response and muscle tightening around the body to protect it, forgot to mention that weed took me off guard so i panicked a little, thats probably why, and i think i still feel because my brain has associated weed to that response.

Hi! i know this was over a year ago, but this has been happening to me a lot recently, so hopefully anyone who reads this could get something useful out of it!
I've smoked for a long time, since I was maybe 15-16, and very recently I've been feeling like I can't breathe when I smoke. Some of these tips really help me when I feel like im "dying" from oversmoking, as I call it. But, this can be different for everyone and not every method here will help, im just hoping to help a few people that it's randomly happening to!
When i first feel it, i have someone I trust (whether it be online or in real life) to speak to me and try to distract me from the situation. It's generally a(n) anxiety/panic attack, and nothing is wrong with your throat. Inhalation to hot smoke can be one of the factors, it may irritate your throat! If you have nobody to help you through it, take a sip of water. Weed will dry your throat/mouth very quickly if the strain is super strong, giving it that closing feeling because it gets harder to swallow spit and take deep breaths. It'll feel weird going down, like its stuck for a second but I promise it's not :). And that will help you realize that your throat isn't closing! (for me at least, this helps.) after a bit, make sure it's fully down because it'll feel like your throat is closing again in a few moments. Lay on your back, flat on your back without an incline so your throat feels more open, and close your eyes. Rest your hand on your stomach so you can feel the air going in and out of your lungs. Check your pupils, I know this doesn't seem important but if you look at them you realize you're perfectly fine, as long as they aren't pinpointed or overly big. Cover one of your nostrils, and inhale through the other (not your mouth!), you'll feel the cool air going down your throat through a nostril, and it'll help relive the panic a bit more. If you feel a bit better, don't get up because it'll only get stronger if you do. Have a cigarette if you have one, or a vape (if you smoke that is, if you don't don't start!) that'll help aswell. Try not to breathe too much through your throat because it'll freak you out a bit more. It's all in your control, weed can't kill you, keep that in mind. I wish luck to anyone who has been having panic attacks due to weed! Happy smokin!

This is actually real if you think about it logically. I wouldn’t wish that sh*t on nobody fr it’s terrible.

Happened to me and I actually had a bronchoscopy done which completely solved the feeling.

Two weeks after it happened it again

Literally just happened to me; I went directly to my parents then the bathroom and was puking up nothing; I felt the weed I had swallowed right there but it would not come out for sh*t. I still I able to breath thankfully but I went to the ER and they were pretty pissed because it just looked to them he just high and he panicking. Nonetheless they gave me some sh*t and it isn’t gone I can feel it but it’s wayyy more subtle than before

Hello.

If you're experiencing a persistent feeling of something stuck in your throat that is causing discomfort and difficulty breathing, it's important to seek medical attention immediately. These symptoms could be indicative of a medical emergency, such as an obstruction in your airway or another serious condition.

In the meantime, here are a few steps you can take:

Stay calm: Try to remain calm and take slow, deep breaths to help alleviate any anxiety or panic you may be experiencing.

Drink water: Sip on water to help clear your throat and potentially dislodge any obstruction. Avoid consuming large amounts of food or drink that may exacerbate the situation.

Coughing: If you feel comfortable doing so, try gentle coughing to see if it helps clear your throat. However, if coughing worsens your condition or if you're unable to cough, it's important to seek immediate medical assistance.

Let us know what you've been told on your medical exam so we can help you further.
