In January 2008 I tripped on something while going down a stairwell. When I fell my neck snapped back and forward very fast and hard. The doctor i saw at the time took xrays and saw nothing wrong....Since the fall I started noticing a popping on the left side of my trachea when I swallowed...My neck muscles were stiff for a while then cleared up. I got used to the popping (my doctor said it was probably a spasm and that it should go away in time--- he likened it to a sprain one might get from whiplash). Well it never completely went away (it only pops when I am lookin straight ahead and swallow. I think I have been turning slightly so I can swallow without the popping). The popping occurs at the very top of my throat on the left side of my trachea just beneath my jaw). Well recently I have been having some allergy problems which have caused me to swallow more than usual. The popping is still there, and though it never hurts it is driving me nuts. Any thoughts?
