I am a 20 year old male. I smoke about 10 cigarettes per day, i do not drink very often. I have been feeling very tired and am having to go to the toilet more than usual, just for a pee. I also feel thirsty all the time, even after i have a drink. My sleeping pattern is farley normal, about 8 hours a night and sometimes i go for a nap in the afternoon for about an hour. I also have sharp pains in the lower right hand side of my ribs, just below them, the pain used to be bearable and would happen around once every week, but recently it only happens around once a fortnight but the pain is extreme.

Is their a solution to my problem??

Thanks, paddy
Hi! I'm not a doctor but under your right rib cage are your liver, your gallbladder, your pancreas, the top of your right kidney, and a loop of your large intestine. So, it could come from a lot of different things. You could get your gallbladder checked. Types of gallbladder disease include inflammation of the gallbladder and gallstones. I hope this will help.

You should also take into account the fact that simple urinary tract infection is the most frequent cause for frequent urination. But because you feel so thirsty all the time you should check your blood sugar levels. When they are higher than normal sugar builds up in your bloodstream and that pulls fluid from the tissues which leaves you thirsty. As a result, you drink and urinate more than usual. How is your diet? IS your appetite as usual, or are there changes?

Thanks for both of your replies, i think you could be spot on with the sugar levels in my blood, that sounds reasonable. My diet is not the greatest, alot of unhealthy foods although i drink the required amount of water per day(most days). Again thanks for your replies, was very helpful!
