I am 36 years old and over the past 2 months I have been getting strep throat a lot so the dr decided it was time to get my tonsils out since they were enlarged and I spent 3 days in the hospital with uvulits. I had the surgery on April 2 at 1030 in the morning. I was awake by 11:45 and eating pudding and apple sauce right after Really had no pain at all. Got discharged at 230 that same day. Slept for a bit then got up for dinner. Ears did hurt for a bit but not really any other pain. Slept all night with no pain and then woke up today with no pain again. Had normal meals all day today and even went shopping The hospital called to check up and they were amazed how well I was doing. I read horror stories about the agonizing pain and heard from co workers how bad it was going to be....moral of the story is everyone is different...also I suggest don't read all of the horror stories prior to having it done!!!!
