Hi, I have a fifty years old mother. She is in menopause. After she went to see the doctor, it seamed that everything will be fine. However, her mood swings are getting worse. I talked to her about it and she told me that she is trying not to take any meds that were prescribed to her. Apparently, she thinks they are poisoning her. What should I do?
Hi, it is obvious that your mother is getting worse. Actually, it is the symptoms of menopause that are to blame for her behavior. The good thing is that you found out what is causing it. I am not sure why would your mother think that the meds are hurting her. Not to mention that they are prescribed by a professional care provider. I suggest you take her to see the doctor again. He will find a way to make her take the prescribed meds again. Maybe she needs professional counseling as well. You should also make it clear for her to understand that only the meds can help her. Only meds can make the symptoms go away. Hope you will succeed.
