Achenbach's Syndrome is what I get

I believe these are early symptoms of a less evolved version of the Ebola Virus. If I was you I would contact the doctor immediately.

Thank you for that. The symptoms I get are usually on my fingers and although painful it does clear eventually. Today I have it on the pad of my left hand. Never in this area before. It was excruciating and has left a bruise as well as hard lump. It is still painful several hours later.

I am a 17 year old, female and I've experienced the same thing a few times and I have no idea why this happens. It is a stinging ache that gets very sensitive and goes away pretty quickly, but a bruise is still there.

Actually.. I have the exact same symptoms, brought on, on occasion, by even silght pressure of the finger joints, even squeezing the steering wheel. It has been diagnosed as Achenbach's Syndrome. First, a bee sting like sensation with sudden blue/purple discoloration, sometimes a pinpoint, sometimes 1/4" wide. If I press hard on it immediately, it seems to subside a tad, but once it happens, the purple lasts a few days. Most docs have no clue what it is and have never heard of AS. I finally took pictures of it so I could show it to my doc.. wild goose chase to a rheumatologist and cardiologist. I do wonder, though, if there's a connection with the two permanent lumps on both thumbs, and a diagnosis of Osteochondritis Dissecans in ankles and shoulder. My gut says there is, but docs don't tend to string the dots together. Something autoimmune?

Oh my gosh,my big toe has a big black bruise from 3 days ago,I was walking fine one min and then I felt a big bulge under my toe I thought I'd stepped in something it was itchy and swollen. I think its a blood vessel that pops and my fingers do it sometimes.I bruise all over for no reason doctor never worries so I will try not to.but look up herbs etc that can help.

Ok. All of the previous responses about this are over a year old, and no doctor is coming on here to say anything? My family thinks I'm nuts. I have had the symptom of cold, numb fingertips before many times, usually on a cold winter day, when I have trouble just warming up. But it's October and in the 70's these last few days, and it shouldn't be happening to me. This time it's the just the one muddle finger on the right. I don't wear rings on that hand or even a watch. A few days ago, the base of the finger started to swell and looked blue. The brising was even spreading, maybe pooling under the other two fingers. It got very swollen and started to make me panic, wondering how much more it was going to swell! I wiggled it, pinched it, squeezed it, opened and closed my hand, squeezed a ball, but it didn't seem to stop. I ran it under warm water and massaged it, it sort of subsided, but I had a work day to finish. Later, it was still sore, but not as blue. I put ice on it, thinking I had just bruised it, maybe. Not much change. Next day, after warm showers, washing dishes, basic hand lotions, I noticed it was completely back to normal, not purple at all. Carried heavy grocery bags in today, holding the handles across that knuckle, like a normal grip. Same finger started it up again! Turning blue, swelling, pain like a bee sting, itchy almost. I know I'm not crazy, as I've read all these other posts. If it's Reynard's Syndrome or sclerodoma of some kind, what I'm I supposed to do about it? If I mention to a doctor, are they going to tell me I'm stressed? Better not!! How many patients are dismissed every year for psychosomatic symptoms of stress, only to find out later they had an ignored disease? Makes me angry just anticipating the call to the doctor.

I have just today had what I thought was a sting followed by itching on my index finger, was working with my hands at the time. Them the bruise appeared this is the upper side of hand not the palm. Had this same thing on my thumb 6 months ago also not the palm side, have no health issues other than low blood pressure. Can’t find any explanations but feel this is warning that something in my body is going wrong

I agree, something that thins the blood is causing this to happen. It started with me a few weeks ago for the first time, shortly after I started drinking homemade turmeric lattes every day. I'm cutting back! It's annoying having this happen, and yes, one does worry if it could happen in another place, i.e. the brain! I also take fish oil, but just a standard dose. However, I have been genetically confirmed as a slow metaboliser of blood thinning pharamaceuticals, which means the substances remain in my body longer than usual and can therefore cause side effects. I have to be careful with everything, especially caffeine. Now I know turmeric is a problem as well.

I, too, have suffered this for many years. I'll feel soreness on my thumb or palm then usually feel something like a pop, but not really, but something happens, then pain and an immediate bruise. The bruise nor swelling last long, normally 24 hours then it's fine again. Happens with both hands.
