My 8 yr old daughter was sick with a virus 2 weeks ago and this same thing started! Now that she is well, it has happened a few times. Did this go away for your daughter? This is alarming!

Hi
Its the first time I actually searched for this thing on the web and found you guys. It really is good to know that what i felt was not something i imagined feeling. Same scenario - It was severe and recurring when I was 12-13 years old and now I get this mild feeling maybe once or twice a year.

I would feel my body going cold, heart beats felt pronounced and fast, ceiling fans felt like rotating at a hundred thousand rotations per second, if anybody was talking to me - it seemed like that person was rushing. All this with the knowledge that nothing extraordinary was actually happening and it was all coming from my head.

I got CT scans, ECG etc when I was 13 yrs old and all came out normal.

Doctors prescribed me to stop eating sugary stuff, chocolates, and coffee (I have been drinking coffee since I was 9 or 10 yrs old).

Sorry, I forgot to mention the following:

I am 27 Years old now and still feel it sometimes. I still eat a lot of chocolates and drink coffee. (I don't know if that has a bearing or not).

I got Chickenpox when I was 17 years old and felt a severe fast feeling right about the time my sickness was peaking.

Same thing happened when I got typhoid with a fever maxing out at 104.5 °C. I was 23 years old.

(Just noting my age so that it helps to chart out a history)

Hi my 7 year old daughter has had this before and yesterday I've had it too so I started to research it an it is called AIWS which is short for Alice in wonderland syndrome. A trigger can be headache, migraine, ebv a fever and tiredness.

Woah! I get this too! I just typed in the search bar the symptoms I am feeling and you described all of them well. I'm 20 right now, but has been happening since I was 7 and older. To me, it feels like noises are coming towards me more aggressively. I wonder why this happens?

The same thing happens to me! I'm glad I'm not alone! Similar to a lot of you, this feeling happened a lot when I was little and then stopped for a few years and now it has come back. It's not very frequent, but it's annoying. Has anyone found out if it's an actual medical condition?

I have also heard that these symptoms when felt at a young age and or continue are early signs of dementia (heard this from and elderly lady). This used to happen to me when i was about 7 years old. i had to stand still and close my eyes and cover my ears because it was scary to me. I would tell my mom "stop talking fast to me".. she would always say she wasn't. I always just took a nap next to my mom when I had those episodes. I'm Mexican so we never went to doctors. It was a "face". Sometimes a Culture of ignorance, but with that being Said Apparently the only explanation Is (AWS) Alice and Wonderland Syndrome. I have not gotten it any more only once when I was 18. It was panic attacks for a week so that Fast Feeling Came back during that time only. Crazy to know many have gotten this and it started back when more then now in children... Interesting

Its crazy that you mention sugar, because i used to eat a lot of sugars/ candy when i used to get my episodes. and i was a really hyper child. The doctor told my mom to stop giving me sugar because of my stomach aches. But maybe sugar has a lot to do with it or maybe not at all...hmm.. Interesting to know many have felt like this

No worries, this syndrome can be self terminated and will go off as we grow old. When there is lack of sleep or sick v get this fast feeling.

I used to get it more often when I was younger and I always called it 'when everything goes fast' what the hell causes it? Is it something to worry about?

I have the same problem and something I found hard was explaining it to people they would think I was lying BUT SOMETHING I LEARNT was that my heart rate would begin to increase almost as if your having a panic attack because of course your scared of course I used to cry when I was a bit younger cos I was scared just try to stay calm try to keep your heart rate at a reasonable pace something I did was when It happens I would take a deep breath in hold for 5 second then out and repeat till I calm down NO MATTER HOW HARD IT IS DONT PANIC IT WILL GETT WORSE and you will start to become scared causing you to have a panic attack
