The answer provided has nothing to do with this. I am not vomiting and don't have a fever. The pain is not coming from my stomach. The pain does not get better or worse by eating. My gallbladder was removed over 25 years ago. My appendix was removed almost 50 years ago. I was in a doctor's office once when I had an episode. The pain was so bad it brought tears to my eyes. The doctor felt the rock hard cramp and said I should drink Gatorade. That did not help.

I have the same problem and until I read this post I didn't even think about when it started but I'm pretty sure it was after I had laparoscopic surgery too.

I can say ditto to everything you described in your post. Mine started and the doctor removed my gallbladder but I had laprascopic surgery a few years before to see why cramps were so bad and the doctor removed scar tissue from my appendectomy. The spasms didn't start until about 5 years later, (that I can remember) I think it took about a year of it happening on and off before I went to the doctor who decided to remove my gallbladder. The actual spasms did not go away and they are now getting more regular. I was curious if you have found any information since your post?

I get charlie horses in my right upper side, for over 30 years. Severe pain feels like my organs are twisting thought this was just spasms, i get cramps severe in legs and toes too. I take magnesium. It helped somewhat. still get cramps...I never went to doctors for this. But about 6months ago I went to have cat scan for somehing else, they found a hemogiama on right side tip of liver. Blood vessels 6cm.tumor. they are not cancer. And usually people never know they have one unless you have a cat scan. It's the same area where I have charlie horses. I didn't ask if that could cause cramps, I usually get cramps if i sit back or stretch or bend. Well I go for another cat scan soon to see if tumor got bigger. I feel that when I have charlie horses on the upper right abdomen. It has something to do with the hemogiama .

I get severe cramps in my upper and lower back, on both sides of my upper and lower abdomen, in my pelvic area, in my neck, in my legs, in my arms, in my feet (when I get up sometimes my foot is twisted to the side at the ankle and it takes a while to get it back in place) and in my toes. In other words I get them all over and it does feel like my muscles are twisting and they get as hard as a rock. I take magnesium, calcium, potassium and Taurine. So far nothing has really solved the problem. I get these cramps sometimes whenever I move, sometimes I don't cramp up at all. I don't know if they can all be related to my liver, but they could be. The AST enzyme is also found in muscles and many other tissues besides the liver. My last blood test showed this enzyme to be in the normal range. Thank you for the information. I am going to pursue this further. If you find out anything please let me know.

I have this too, it started occasionally while riding my bike, then I noticed it sometimes lol after adult activity....LOL.....and today when bent over to blow dry my hair...worst cramp ever. I think it is related to a small hiatal hernia.

I have the exact same symptoms as you, also after having my second child! I wonder if our muscles haven't gone back properly after they separated which has caused the problem!

I came to this site about two months ago searching for answers just like the rest of you. I swore to myself that if I found out what the issue was, I would come back and share my answers. I am happy to say, after four months and every possible test. I have my answers. I, like most of you, had my gallbladder out and the pain didnt go away. I was still having intense pain in the hospital after the gallbladder was removed. They told me, it was residual pain. I knew better. I can take a lot of pain, this was ridiculous pain. It is the only time in my life, I considered the pain a 10 on the scale. (I've had three babies and a c section, never a 10). I had two cat scans, two xrays, an endoscopy, blood work, you name it, i was turned inside out and every time heard the same results. Nothing. You are healthy! But still, severe pain that woke me in the middle of the night. I was told, i had an inflammed mesentary, i was fructose intolerant, i had an overgrowth of bacteria in my small intestine. None of that was true. I was taking pain killers for four months. My last option was they were going to do laproscoptic surgery to "take a look inside". In my mind, this was exploratory surgery. I asked my doctor, why can't we do an MRI before this? He agreed. BINGO! The MRI FINALLY showed what the problem was. I have a benign tumor on my spine and it is close to the spinal cord which can cause pain in the abdominal area. Mine is in the throatic region so it was upper abdominal pain. I also had numbness in my right foot. If you have been going thru this for months and none of the tests have shown anything, please, insist on an MRI of your back! They dont do them on your abdominal region, but the pain can be coming from the back! I am going to have surgery this week to remove the tumor. I will try to come back here to update on the post. (I hope I can figure out how to do that), I feel for all of you people, I know what you're going thru. I hope you all find out what the issue is.

Jenny, you are describing what I went thru for four months. I posted, not sure you can find it. I had no vomitting, no fever, every possible test, cat scans, xrays, endoscopy, blood work, breath tests. FINALLY, an MRI showed a benign tumor on my spine. All the classic signs were there, most doctors are not familiar with them because the doctor that can diagnose this is a neuro surgeon. Most of us dont see a NS on a regular basis. Ask for an MRI of the back!

I did have an MRI on my back because I do have problems with my back. There was no tumor on my spine. I have two compressed disks and dehydrated lumbar disks.
