I have these same symptoms.. it begins like a pressure in the top of my abdomen in the middle lower rib cage (in the gap betweer my left and right ribs) its like it goes hard and is really tender to touch before getting more and more painful until i am sweating and catching my breath because it hurts to breathe. its kinda like contractions when you are in labour, but only in that one area. i find taking buscopan or any buscopan with added painkiller works wonders.. it relieves the pain, but the tense pressure is still there.

This sounds like what my wife had for years until she went to the right specialist who had her checked for Ciliac Disease. After the tests came back positive she made some dietary changes and after a year the pain is completely gone. Just don't try to change your diet until you have had the test because the test won't work if you do.

Definitely sounds like Costochondritis. I am having the exact same symptoms accept for chest pain. I have had CT of upper and lower abdomen, scope, ultrasound and blood tests. Nothing shows up. I saw a pain doctor today and he thinks it is Costochondritis. look it up. You have all the classic signs.

OMG I can RELATE to you very much so.....the all might dollar (or should I say LACK THERE OF) and NO health insurance of any kind is KILLER on us who cannot AFFORD to go to a doctor or hospital and as of the last 3 hours my pain has been so excruciating I feel like i'm going to die...I even put a heating pad around that area to try to help aleviate the pain and it somewhat eased but I got very nauseated and vomited profuslly...I know I vomited blood up also...NOTHING HELPS....the vomiting eased the pain somewhat but now it's slowly creeping back up on me....!!!! I'm PRAYING FOR RELIEF SOON...I have to work in the morning and cannot call off....this is NOT a constant thing but does come along quite often...once in a while if I drink cold milk it would help, but not today of course....HEAVEN HELP US!!!

I have the same discomfort but it started after a very physical bout with ice in my drain and I had to bend over and break it up to stop a flood in my condo. I have also had a tramatic death in the family recently.
Could it be hiatial hernia? or just stress?

have any of you ever been diagnosed with the std trich or if you havent ever been tested then go do it and let me know your results because i was diagnosed and treated for it but its easy to recontract so i dont know if i still have it or not. this might explain a little bit as far as the ibs like symptoms go.

Sounds like you have a Gallstone stuck in your bile duct. I had the same issue and they didn't diagnose it until I had a cat scan in the hospital. Other symptoms are light tan colored stools and a sharp pain in the middle of my back. I also developed Jaundice or yellowing of the eyes. Had it for almost 3 years until the pain got so bad I had to be admitted. It has been over a year so hopefully you have found the problem and are now better.

I have had bouts of sever pain under my ribcage top of abdomen through too back .it is so severe iv had call an ambulace they said it was the lining of my stomach due too years of medication .for arthritus .
Iv had this pain and feel sick the pain generates down my arms when severe .and lasts up too 12 odd hours .iv had it now for 9 half hours and its intence i feel awful . But as nothing was done feel its not worth going A&E .any ideas and pain relifeiv taken 6 buscopan tramadole still in agony
