Well, chances are you don't have cancer but IF you do, remember that endometrial cancer is highly curable--and no I, personally, needed no radiation or chemo. Also, I work in an OBGyn clinic and was at a conference last week: A gynecological-oncologist (who just happened to be the surgeon who did my complete hysterectomy) presented research that strongly suggests that IF you do need a hysterectomy for endometrial cancer, you may be able to save your ovaries. It turns out that ovarian cancer--which is different from endometrial cancer--APPEARS to actually originate in the fallopian tube(s) and spreads to the ovary(s). If you need surgery and can save your ovaries, you will not have the increased risk for a number of other health issues that go with having your ovaries removed. Anyway, first things first. Breathe deeply and see what they find with your bleeding. Update us!

I'm 63 years old and had polops removed and the D&C . It was a very positive experience with no pain and light bleeding. It has been 6 days and I've had just some spotting, no pain or problems. I had a very good OBGYN and I'm glad I had this done due to sisters with endometrial cancer.

I just turned 62 and have a pre-op for my ablation of the endometrium today. I have one large benign polyp and one fibroid on my uterus wall. I went into the office and was put mildly under to have the ablation but dr was not able to do the procedure because I have a tipped uterus and the procedure now has to be done in the hospital and I will be put completely out. I'm a little nervous reading all the comments. I had no problems before this and I'm hoping I don't afterward.

I had an ablation in Aug of 2012 (which only cost me my office visit copay of $35). It completely stopped my periods for 5 years, then in the summer of 2017 I started having bleeding again. I had a period for about 2 weeks, then nothing for a couple months, then another period. They were very inconsistent, so I went to my OB and got on the pill, that helped regulate it. Now I have had 5 days over the last month with the most intense pain, its like a knife stabbing into my groin/ pelvic area. It lasts for a few hrs. then goes away. I went and had a sonogram done, they found some polyps, so now I'm waiting to see what is next. I was told because I had the ablation they can't go in and remove it because there is too much scar tissue for them to get to it. I am hoping for a resolution because the pain is debilitating.

Had an ablation done 10 years ago to get rid of cramps. That's how it was sold anyway. During procedure doc discovered uterine polyps, did procedure anyway. No bleeding since then but, I had unexplained weight gain right after the procedure and about 5 years afterwards the cramping started. Instead of having 1-2 days of cramping, which I had all my life up to the procedure, I now have weeks of severe cramping (no bleeding) for years now. It's a nightmare and I wish I had my old uterus back. Buyer beware on this surgery, you're on your own if it goes wrong.

I had a D&C along with polyp removal. No bleeding so far, but I am cramping really bad. I hope I don't have to go through surgery again. Dr. Told me that if I start a cycle again, I will have to have hysterectomy. The surgery was done in February, spotted for 2 days and stopped. I am menopausal though, so that could be why I am not bleeding. (YET). Hopefully I wont.
