Well, considering you had an annual in January I couldn’t contribute the bleeding to any abnormal growths. I was wondering if you are experiencing any other symptoms like moodiness, insomnia, low sexual desire, etc
It could be that you are going through perimenopause when your hormones are starting to fluctuate interfering with your menstrual cycle. It would be helpful to say if there was a way you could have aggravated the bleeding during sex or other activities.
Have your ovaries also been checked during your annual?
Dark brown color usually indicates old blood, and some women do experience brown vaginal discharge after their periods but I am not sure if it happens 10 days after.
If the bleeding continues, I would have it checked.

I have just had a very frightening experience immediately after intercourse. Mu husband noticed some blood on his penis while we were having sex but thought that perhaps my period was due soon (in fact it's not due for another week and I am very regular). As soon as he came and withdrew his penis, there was a sudden 'splat' of blood. When I stood up it literally gushed out of my vagina in bright red spots all over the floor. It was so sudden and forceful it was like someone had punctured a bag. It continued to drip for a few moments as I sat on the toilet but then dried up. I washed myself thoroughly and my husband examined me. He inserted his fingers and explored thoroughly - but there was not even a trace of blood. We then had intercourse for a second time in the same position as before. When my husband withdrew, again there was not a trace of blood either on him or inside me. I am 40 years of age, not on the pill (I wear internal contraception) and have never had such an experience before. There was no pain either during or after intercouse, or during the discharge of blood. I am in good health. Anyone got any ideas?
first you should wait up until 3 days after your cycle finishes to avoid "residue blood" or stimulation to area so close to the menstrual cycle. Also your cycle changes once every 12 mo or once a year in the date that it appears. This has been my experience. I also use summers eve post mentstral cleansing douche 3 days after my cycle stops and then wait a day before intimacy. this avoids residue blood in the walls of the vagina and bad smells from left over blood in the vaginal walls.
