Hi,
I have recently started experiencing a discomfort in my vaginal area. There is a burning, Itching, and it is red around the opening. However, there has been no change in discharge. I am bleeding here and there, but this could also be because I recently started the depo-provera birth control shot. I dont know if what I have is a yeast infection or a more serious kind of infection. However, I think it could also possibly be just irritation from too much sex? Of course, I am most likely wrong.
Please Helpp.
Thank you. =]

Depo provera causes your progesterone to be really high, and estrogen really low. That is what is causing your vaginal pain (vulvodynia). You need to be on a more balance bcp that offers a higher level of estrogen, and moderate progesterone. Something with over 25-30mcg of estrogen. If you go any lower, you deprive your vagina of estrogen (the fake kind does not match the levels you would normally make).
I'm having itching and bad smell from my vagina, and my vaginal opening is red. I started experiencing this after fingering myself. Have I done something wrong?
