My doctor is making me try boric acid insert. Doesn't sound right but it has to do with your ph levels. Getting it on Monday because only one pharmacy in this area makes this specific compound. So frustrating but willing to try anything. Will keep you posted.

Has anything you've tried cleared it or are you still having the same issue? Is this going to be a chronic thing? Ugh. Mine started since I had my ablation. Haven't been 'normal' since.

****Possible Solution****
Hi all, I have read through every post on here. I found this site awhile back. I have never posted because I felt like my post would just be a repeat of what everyone is saying (because I had no answers)...but I think I have found my solution and maybe it could help you too!
My story...I am 40. A little over two years ago I got my first case of BV. Took meds, got yeast infection. Went back and forth between BV and yeast several times before I finally tested negative for everything. However my V was not back to normal. I had no itching, no burning, no smell. Just a thick white discharge that stuck to the sides of my V. I was dry during sex. Horrible!
So I feel like I tried everything to fix it, just like many of you, including the essential oil mixture listed on this board. Didn't work for me. I have been to the doc more times than I can count.
Well, finally after two years, I think I have found the solution to my problem. Because of my issue, my boyfriend rarely gave me oral. But he did a couple weeks ago and he told me that I tasted sour. This was hard to hear but I'm glad he told me because I think it was the clue that I needed. I checked myself and yep, I tasted sour.
Well, I had always thought that I may possibly have cytolytic vaginosis. I was afraid to try baking soda because as you probably know if it is anything besides cytolytic vaginosis then baking soda will make things worse. The most I had ever done was just stop taking my high priced probiotic for a couple months and that didn't seem to do any good so I thought it must not be cytolytic vaginosis. Plus I had talked to my gyno and she said that my PH was normal and she assured me that the lab tests tested for everything. Yeah...right!
Well, I started looking into what could cause a sour taste....I saw a post from a doctor on a website that said a sour taste would be caused by lactic acid. Lactic acid is produced by lactobacillus!!!
I found out you can have too much lactobacillus and still test within the normal PH range!
I did more looking and found a post from a woman who said she cleared up her sour tasting thick white discharge and dry vagina by taking liquid calcium/vitamin D. And this lady said you will see results within 24 hours. Too simple right?

This was on Sunday night when I read all this. I immediately stopped taking my probiotic. I sat in a baking soda sitz bath. (been doing that twice a day) ran to the health food store and I have been taking 600 mg of liquid calcium/vitamin D twice a day.
I saw improvement immediately after the first sitz bath. 95% improvement in 24 hours and I feel 100% now and it's only Thursday!
My V hasn't felt this normal in over 2 years! It is clear, wet and slippery again! Zero thick, white pasty build up that needs to be scooped every morning. No sour taste!

I don't know if diet has much to do with things. I am a pretty healthy person...mostly eat salads. However I go through my times when I fall off the good diet wagon. To tell you the truth, I haven't seen much of a difference whether I eat good or bad.
However, right now I have committed myself to a high alkaline diet and drink tons of lemon/lime water throughout the day.
Maybe I can get to the point where I no longer need the baking soda or calcium/vit D.
If you try this, please let me know if you see the same success that I am seeing with this.

I used the baking soda and ended up with BV. Im willing to try out the vitamin D/Calcium you mentioned. What brand did you purchase?

Bluebonnet - I got it at Natural Grocers. Yeah...I am a bit nervous about going over the edge with the baking soda and getting BV again. Such a balancing act!

AfreshnewV I definitely will try this! I am glad you have found success! I am also moving to using ONLY unscented Dove down there. Limiting any external factors/fragrance. I have been using Gain for YEARS and moved to Clear and Free baby detergent Dreft. The scent of Gain does not work with my body at all. My diet is OK but I ate fastfood again and it got worse... Hoping that I can one day soon eat how I want to and not have to worry about this issue.

Did you purchase the liquid vitamin C and D mixed together or did you just take them separately?

They already come mixed together. So I take it together...no mixing required.
Been over a week since I started this and I am still having success. Hope others have the same results.
