I have been experiencing these exact symptoms for 5 months now, and my husband and i speak about it very openly and he is very supportive, but i am terrified that this might effect my ability to get pregnant. funny thing this only started happening after i started actively trying to get pregnant. i stopped taking birth control 8 months ago and we just started actively trying to get pregnant 5 months ago. I am terrified that this may leave me infertile, plus it puts alot of pressure on me. My sex life has been effected greatly and even though my husband is very understanding, it still makes me feel... worthless. Does anyone know if this can keep me from getting pregnant?

Im so glad to hear that im not alone ! im 19 years old and have been on birth control since i was 15 i recently stopped taking it though because i am worried about my over all health.  The symptoms you all are explaining i have been having for the past year now. Mild itch, redness, and lots of discomfort. I was tested 6 months ago and everything was "normal".  Only this doesnt feel normal!  And sex you can forget about that for atleast 3 weeks out of the month.  Thankfully my fiance is understanding and he wants to do anything to help.  I went to an herbalist and have been taking primrose oil twice a day (that has brought some relief) and plan to start some of the regimens you all have suggested.  its nice to be able to hear your stories, because it brings some comfort <3

Goodluck <3

MOST OF THIS IS ALTERNATIVE REMEDIES... I FIND THE DOCTORS ARE NO HELP. I am currently on boric acid inserts that have been perscripted and i feel like they havent helped

hi everyone, i have read all the posts and i have all the same symptoms and they all coincide with when i'm ovulating . . . i have also noticed something amongst the posts . . . most people stopped taking birth control when they started experiencing these symptoms.  I was on birth control for 13 years when i stopped 2 years ago, and this just started happening to me 2 years ago.  So i think it does have to do with some sort of hormonal imbalance . . . i am going to try the baking soda wash and let you all know how that goes.  What is Boric Acid and where can i get that from?

I have these symptoms and I haven't been on birth control in five years.
Incidentally...in addition to yeast infections, I've been diagnosed, at one point or another, with lichen sclerosis, PCOS, and HPV all in attempt to explain my ridiculous skin sensitivities centered around my vagina.

Hi.
I've had these symptoms off and on for 7 years with various misdiagnoses and no relief - on birth control and off. This thread is the first time I've had someone present a diagnosis that, after reading up on it, seems like it might actually be right! Someone said to google Cytolytic Vaginosis. I did and found: http://nurse-practitioners-and-physician-assistants.advanceweb.com/Article/Cytolytic-Vaginosis-And-Lactobacillosis.aspx

The article is jargony because it is written for nurse practitioners, but is directly talking about a non-yeast infection itching starting around 2 weeks before a period (luteal/ovulation phase) and lasting/increasing until the period actually starts. The cause it talks about is an imbalance of one of the natural bacterias existing in the vagina. This makes the vagina too acidic causing the irritation. Solution? First, stop using tampons - menstrual flow often balances the pH/acidity level of the vagina. For immediate relief, soak in a baking soda bath/wash with a baking soda solution.

Try looking up Endometriosis. Maybe that can explain the pain during sex.

Hello girls,
I read all your comment, I have the same problem. I am pretty sure for me that's because of birth control pill !
I was on YAZ a few month ago! I had server itching and irritation and I could not sleep during the night. It started from the month that I started using birth control pill !
My doctor tested me for yeast and I had a pap-smers, but every thing was OK! So, the doctor changed my pills. Now I am on Aleese. I still have the problem, but it is not as worse as before. I can sleep during the night and it does not bother me that much during the day but still can have sex during this time :(
Each month it start around the same time I can even guess the day from my birth control pills calendar!
So, I am going to ask the doctor to change my birth control pills again, it may help and if it does not I really do not know what to do :(
I do not want to risk not using birth control pills :(

To the person who suggested baking soda and that it is cytolitic vaginosis, i thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have soreness and itchiness in my genital region starting mid cycle (around ovulation) and clearing up during my period. On the weekend it was driving me nuts and i was going to go buy yet more thrush medicine when i googled my symptoms and found this. I put loads of baking soda in a couple of inches of water in the bath and sat in there a while... the relief was indescribable. I realise now that the recurrent "thrush" that has plagued me for 13 years is not thrush but cytolitic vaginosis. Such an easy remedy!

have absolutely the same symptoms as you mentioned above. 10 to 14 days after my period I am itchy, red, uncomfortable and swolled. Doctors seem to have no idea but like you all tests negative. Seems to me like it is some type of hormonal imbalance possibly?
As you posted this over a year ago I am wondering if you have figured anything out?

I have used the baking soda treatment suggested in the first page of comments. It helped me a lot!!!!
Besides I have changed my birth control pills from Monophasic to Triphasic pills. I think this also helped me.
