I havent tried any other types aside from the one i was on cuz my mood was the only thing is worsened, everything else got better. But since i stopped taking birth control. I had weird periods for about 6 months, 4 yeast infections and 2 cases of BV. Ive asked 5 doctors to check my hormones. Or to go see a gyno, none will do it.
Im only 20 years old.

I don't have a severe case, but I itch A LOT every time I ovulate. From reading this thread (among other things I've read), I've come to the conclusion that I have overly acidic discharge during my ovulation. I'm a nutritionist and have a very progressive and conscious diet, so this has puzzled me. It's been a consistent experience for me since I was in my early teens (although back then I didn't know it was related to ovulation and I got it confused with the yeast infections I used to struggle with). As far as I can tell, it is unrelated to candida or yeast infections because I used to have those a decade ago but I thoroughly cured those long ago. For me, I've been able to resolve my issue with two simple measures that I take each ovulation: The first day the irritation begins I get into the bath tub and I use my fingers to thoroughly clear out all the discharge. I use a little argan oil or jojoba oil to add lubrication back so that I'm not dry. (I do not ever put soap inside, as that is bad for your vaginal health.) I have never used baking soda and I don't intend to try it as baking soda is VERY alkaline and generally you don't want any part of your body to have the pH of baking soda. I would be more likely to try celery juice or something else mildly alkaline, but I have not tried something like that, as my simple cleaning alleviates most of the itchiness and irritation. The other thing I've found that helps is applying some of Thayer's brand Witch Hazel which is a gentle, distilled witch hazel with added aloe. I just apply it externally every day of my ovulation or any time I experience itchiness, and the irritation goes away. I thought I'd add this commentary in case it helps anyone else. :) ~ Raederle
