Hi I'm 16 and was told at my last physical (a few months ago) that i have developed a varicocele in primarily my left testicle. I've been researching the topic for about half an hour but I still have a few questions.
Is it recommended to have surgery immediately because I've been told that have the varicocele for an extended period of time can lead to testicular tissue damage as well as temporary to COMPLETE atrophy! So after having it for a longer time does that mean that I will be less likely to impregnate a woman or that my semen quality will be lower to sterile? Will my semen be mutated and cause health disorders in my kids or does "damaged semen quality" just means it will die faster after ejaculation?
These questions aren't really as important (health wise) and semi embarassing but hey we're all guys here and these are things I'd also like to know.
Does varicocele cause:
-a lower amount of semen produced
-decreased sex drive
-decreased testosterone (relating to energy, adrenaline, sports, lifting, man stuff in general and etc.)
-decreased penis length (both non erect and erect)
-premature ejaculation or lack of orgasm
Also is the tissue damage and atrophy increased due to having sex or masturbating (just ejaculation in general)?
Will this varicocele affect a cyst that i have on the actually ball that I have in my right testes? If the varicocele develops in my right teste then will it affect it? Does the cyst affect any of what I've asked above?
Answers to these questions would be really helpful. I've heard success rate of the surgeries is relatively high with little to no repercussions. I've also heard that the surgery can fix testicular tissue damage as well as atrophy but it's better to have no damage at all in my opinion. So based on that I'm wondering if it is worth it to have the surgery and if so how soon.
Thanks and please respond
you should see a DR. if your father has not discussed this with you. If you are having nocturnal emissions, ( wet dreams), you should be able to achieve orgasm by manual stimulation, I am sure any teenage boy has figured this out on his own.
