Well I'm not a nurse but I have taken one of these daily and had no side effects. I eat a liimited diet due to candida and find these have helped enormously. I don't unbderstand why he was told to take 2. I find you can cut to one a week and still get the benefits. Hope that helps.
Flax allergies are common too, wouldn't hurt to explore this as a cause. (even if this post is almost a year after your issue)
It maybe the niacin which is too much for him I am no doctor but I know that much one in the morning is enough
I just took the Quest Mega B-50 today and had an anaphylactic reaction, went to ER. There was swelling, tingling, burning over face, neck, hands, torso, and legs. The ER doc felt the culprit was the Niacin, but couldn't guarantee. She recommended allergy testing, which I'll do.
I started a multiB and got the rash on my writsts today (took it on an empty stomach) and also got a rash from B12 years ago in a spray form, even went to the hospital because I was alarmed. I'm swearing off vitamin supplements now and figure my body will be better off without something manufactured in a lab somewhere. My 2 cents worth.
Stop writing about the flushing, it IS a different thing altogether. Find a different thread with old ladies, where you can discuss the flush problema. This thread was supposed to be about rash induced by niacin. Flushing is a temporary condition that has nothing to do with rash. Rash is not temporary, at least this one is not. it probably had a clenasing effect on your grey matter, although I suspect that there had not been much in the first place.
Antihistamine helps. And take lower doses of B complex.
It happened to me. I suspect well out of date multis
