Hi!I am 23 year old and suffering from intestinal TB.I am under treatment for 3 months...when i started treatment my weight increased a bit but now it is decreasing again..Is it normal....when it should start increasing....In the starting of my treatment ,my doctor told me that my TB is not confirm and he is giving me treatment on the basis of symptoms and some reports(endoscopy,sonography)....so is there any possibility that I have got something else and he is treating me for TB...
HI Kapilchowdhary - thank you for your question. It is interesting that your doctor only suspects that you may have TB and is treating it as such. It is normal for your weight to fluctuate but this is something that you will need to ask your doctor as well. How are your eating habits? Have they remained the same? Most patients diagnosed with TB do experience weight loss, and even at times more of a yo-yo effect when it comes to weight. This is normal, but worth looking into a little further. Check back with your doctor if you become more concerned and notice significant loss.
